TQAE is a scam. they unlisted the original game along with its reviews and forums and released an expansion for AE so owners would have integrated ads all over the game, including paywalled loot. they don't deserve any money (but should pay compensations for the customers they wronged, but it won't happen because game publishers get a free pass at scamming everyone)

So sell it to the merchants. Or wait for a sale and buy the DLC's. They ARE worth it. The drops are a minor inconvenience.
Or if you don't like the drops then simply don't play the game. It's like an online comic strip I read every day. People do nothing but bash the author. If you don't like it, then simply DON'T READ IT!

I have MANY games I can whine like that about, but I don't. I move on to another.
I could go on over Fallout New Vegas, s an example, of how I thought it was a flaming piece of crap. Didn't even have the atmosphere of a Fallout game. But I won't.

Imagine you get a box of apples in real life. But when you open the box, you realize that red apples have "you can't eat until you buy "red apple" pass. Wouldn't you say "fuck that"?
I know this is all digital and not as bad as apples, but as long as you keep credit these attempts like they are totally normal, it will get worse.

I was just being blunt and explaining it. It is, however, shitty behaviour from the 'new' devs but its their choice. They could have chose to just add the DLC drops IF you have the DLCs and not drop them if you lack the DLCs, but THQ greed is expected. I have a physical copy of the game+original expansion from before THQ bought it out so the new ver is eh tbh. And yes, I have the base ver before they gave it away as well. And how can you say that someone don't like the game if you don't know them anyway? I DID enjoy it when it first came out btw.

AE is the combined version of TQ + TQ Immortal Throne, plus bug fixes.
Owners of the old version got AE for free, I cannot complain about this move, other publishers don't do this.

the forums being still available is irrelevant. they delisted them, and the recent, supported version receiving all the attention and exposition is in direct one-sided competition with them
AE is not just TQ + IT and bugfixes, it's TQ + IT + 2 more paywalled expansions and "bug fixes" if there's even any and unwelcomed changes to the base game, plus the expansions directly affect the base gold edition even if we didn't purchase them
