What do you mean by category? I just went to the Steam Deck page and pressed claim sticker
Edit: I see, you can also claim stickers by going to any game category. I don't know which ones I already got, probably got the same on accident

no idea if it's random or the category you pick is important - but it says every day pick a category and claim a free sticker i got the tome of cookies from visual novels
go to the store and go down to browse by category to claim pick a category page and press claim sticker it should be one per day during the sale
