You like Sly, you will love Ratchet and Clank.
Valkyria Chronicles but above all buy Playstation Plus, you won't need to buy games unless you really need to play on launch day :)

I too am getting a PS3 in 2 days (everyone knows the obvious reason anyways)

ps+, jak and daxter trilogy ( which currently is in ps+), gta V, the last of us, god of war series, red dead redemption ( both normal and zombie version), heavy rain, metal gear sonic games. Guess that its.

PlayStation Plus would be a blessing, you get quite a few free games per month so you can always check if you'd be interested in the franchises presented or not. Other than that, the various HD collections would make a good start.

if you're into RPG's you might give Resonance of Fate a go (not if you're planning for the platinum though!)

other titles like Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry (originals, not that new version :P) and FFX spring to mind if you haven't played the PS2 versions of them. other than those, i'm not too sure about the PS3 exlcusives though, and looking at my library isn't helping XD

Bad idea to buy a PS3 since the new updates will brick it sooner or later. Happend to everyone I know. I stopped updating and playing games on mine last year. Worst console ever
