People eat pizza with dip? Whats the purpose of sauce then?

Dip is dip, sauce is sauce. There's a huge philosophical/ethical/political difference.

I understand they're different things but for me sauce is so it isn't dry. Without sauce its just a sandwich imo...so there really is no purpose, in my mind, to put dip, or to dip your pizza in anything.

Its like dipping your chicken in ranch dressing...

I didn't understand either, then I moved to Scotland where they give garlic dip even with frozen pizzas and now I am converted.

Well I can understand garlic, maybe, I stack my pizza with raw onions and garlic but never used a dip. But here in the states they use ranch and mayo for everything, at least in some areas.

Ohh it's supposed to be dip? I usually just pour the garlic sauce on top.

Well, I'm not Scottish, so my only experience is Papa John's. Is it the same dip? I have no idea.

How do you dip a pizza without getting the dip all full of pizza stuff? Sounds disgusting.

Tabasco goes with anything, love it. I usually chop some fresh habaneros and put them in the tomato sauce when i make homemade pizza.

Here it is impossible to get a takeaway pizza without dip imo, the takeaway pizza boxes even have a special "dip-hole" in them. It grows on you.

Pfft, takeaway pizza? Homemade pizza is where it's at.

Sometimes you just want the greasy comforting cardboard taste of Dominoes.

But seriously, there are tons of higher end pizza places around that are able to utilize equipment that you don't have in your own kitchen. I wouldn't say homemade is always the best.

Depends where I get it. I know Papa Johns comes with garlic dip so I will have that, otherwise if it doesn't come with any I'm happy with that :)

Umm I sometimes use the garlic stuff Pizza Hut provides, or the marinara. But now that you can have a drizzlin' I usually alternate between buffalo, barbecue, and honey sriracha. I hope this answers the question.
