Ok, maybe before I hide in a corner I should try doing something to oppose the horrible state Steam is in today. Here - have a level 2 giveaway for a good game. It's a bundled title, but at least it's infinitely better than most of the crap on my hidden list. I really wish that Steam still could fix itself with some magic clever decision-making within a few following years...

sadly most steam decisions usually makes more trouble than help and are focused purely on protecting steam profit not its users or decent indie gamemakers :/

I must be out of the loop. What's the horrible state of Steam at present?

Also, Grim Fandango is a point & click classic! Good choice. :)

I've gone through a lot of Steam store pages while accumulating 9k games in the hidden list.

What I had in mind is that more than 30 titles are added to Steam each day. Most of these fall in at least one of the categories: rip-off, asset flip, 1-5k achievement spam, low quality port of a mobile game, Early Access with no intention to ever release, bug-fest, paid title with a gameplay of a free flash game or "my_first_game.exe"

I think that Steam was more enjoyable to me, better for casual gamers and for the overall gaming industry when it actually was curated...

Steam has a problem, but I kind of get that the situation they're in is a little difficult to handle. How does one allow for the creative freedom and opportunity for small (sometimes one person) development teams to flourish while also keeping out the scammers, asset flippers and general trash that floats around? I think it's a tough mess to clean up, but at least they've tried a few things so far.
