Yes, I could put them in my cart and then I could "buy" them.
I only had a small issue, because I had to put them a few times in my cart, until it was in it. But that also could be, because I wasn't logged in.
EDIT: I use Chrome, not in incognito mode.

As WueRZet wrote pivate browsing mode worked for me too with Edge to put the package into shopping cart. Once there I pasted the link into normal browser window, logged in and paid my 0.00 €.

Not even Steam's and itch's situation are the same, and GOG is again a VERY different kind of beast, especially in size and curation. There is no use of making popularist remarks.
Steam classified why a game is an adult, from their response it's clear they knew what games are problematic, yet they allowed them to their storefront. So they knew what to remove.
Itch is a digital wild west, they accepted anything, but games are only marked as "adult", but could not differentiate between different type of adult (only pornographic?) content. So as they said, "are conducting a comprehensive audit of content to ensure they can meet the requirements of their payment processors. Pages will remain deindexed as they complete they review. Once this review is complete, they will introduce new compliance measures"
