You can have your own email account and his might be gmial. But most likely its written wrong. Maybe add him on steam?

Don't send the key by email if you're sceptical about the address. Add him on Steam, and give it to him in chat.

I prefer to hand over keys in chat anyway, doubly so if there's reason to doubt the email address is valid. Go with Steam invite on this one.

If no steam response, send an email to both the gmail and gmial addresses with a headline about steamgifts. If you get a response that can correctly name the SG username, then you got the right one.

ALWAYS send keys by chat. That way you can be sure that he receives it and activates it.

Well, if you are not smart enough to at least verify the email you register with on a site where you can win stuff for free, you deserve to not win anything!
Send it to gmial (which also exists, as stated above) and after 7 days take action if you didn´t receive feedback. Just don´t forget to screen everything as proof!
