So, being unemployed and a bit bored I'm having the most natural idea. What if I create a shitty webcomic? Yeah, that would be fun!

The problem is, I can't draw. Somehow almost all webcomics I can find are drawn way too well.

So please recommend me some funny/nice/good-in-some-other-way webcomics that look like they were created by artistically challenged people. In other words, I'm looking for examples that look unprofessionally drawn and have a definite creator (as opposed to authorless memes).

I know one great example (xkcd), but it doesn't count because it's an exception, and you can't have a second stick-figure comic like that. Well, technically you can, but it would look like a rip-off. You are drawing stick figures because you can't draw anything else? Ha! Like that could be true, you pathetic piece of plagiarist scum!

To give you an idea of how bad my drawing skills are, here are some gibs that are almost as bad.

The original One Punch Man manga was very badly drawn but gained a HUGE following

while looking like this:

+1 for this, also if you ever want to see how the manga adaptation looks, feels, and differs from the webcomic you can check it out too.

I don't know any, but this belongs in off topic as it doesn't relate to steam or the site.

This is my first forum thread and I actually was in doubt after I couldn't find any info about these categories in the FAQ or Guidelines (except for the Group Recruitment category), so I was thinking along the lines of "if it has gibs, however shitty, it can't be completely off-topic". But I guess you're right, so I moved it to OT.

They aren't readily available, but what should be in General vs Off Topic has been stated in the discussion sorting thread by CG.
It's something like "help us sort"... if you want to search for it.

The Order of the Stick is a webcomic with excellent writing that gets into a deep, layered story after starting off as more of a joke-a-day kind of thing (though still great in quality). The art is nice, in my opinion, but it's stick figures, and I think those are drawn with the aid of a computer, too.

It most certainly has "thematic deepness".

I think the art is nice too, but it does look simplistic enough. That's good :)

You mean Pokey the Penguin? It definitely counts. I've never heard of it before. It looks awesome!

You should just draw ugly comics and make it your unique style. Just add some meaning to it and name it properly :)

Yeah, drawing ugly comics is exactly what I was thinking about!
I just wanted to convince myself that it's at least possible for a comic to be ugly but still good :)

To me it looks like it was drawn by Leonardo Da Vinci with some help from Van Gogh and Rembrandt :)

My friend is obsessed with Homestuck but a lot of it is drawn quite badly (at least from what I know). It's getting game called Hiveswap soon too.

It looks a bit too professional to me, but that doesn't mean much since I'm not a good judge of art :)

Cyanide & Happiness is golden :D I wouldn't exactly call it "shitty" as far as the drawing goes though, it's just simple.

if you make a webcomic avoid making mistakes that will get you to this wiki (e.g. Sinfest)

I agree that xkcd looks nice. I guess I'm just looking for an art style that's simple enough to draw. It doesn't actually have to look like total shit :)

Thanks for the wiki link. It looks scary! :)

The Order of the Stick is pretty amusing, pretty simply-drawn webcomic ;)

I couldn't pick just one option in your poll though, I like both visual aesthetic and either deepness or humour (depending on what kind of comic it is).

A +1 for Order of the Stick, Buttersafe and Cyanide and Hapiness.

I'll add to the list Chainsawsuit, War and Peas and probably my favourite webcomic ever ever ever, Achewood; extremely well-defined characters who you grow more and more attached to through the series, and the art is simple enough.

Well, I would recommend a web comic. But it is not a bad story and it is relatively well drawn. The webcomic has been going on for about 10 years now so the story is very good.

1/0 looks pretty shitty but is actually really fun and imaginative and unconventional, and even though the (occasional but) really heavy Christian proselytisation bothered me quite a bit, I still enjoyed it a lot and finished it in only 3 days and would recommend it to anyone.

And I'm not sure it could be considered a "webcomic" but Beth Evans' drawings about anxiety(which can often be quite funny) are ridiculously simplistic yet not stick figures, and never detract from my enjoyment of her work.
