Since a lot of Germans may read it, here more about buying uncut games
On the topic: the main issue is that Valve doesn't care. With a working age verification they would be allowed to sell uncut games too. Even Amazon, Uplay or Origin (yes, Origin!) has one. It's just their typical lazyness. I mean, even if they must not sell uncut games it's still easy to bypass that by activating a key or just trading. And honestly: actually their whole system is fucked up, every 12 year old kid can buy 18+ rated gamesy without any problems but well thats another issue...

Had an awesome professor in college who on the first day explained in his thick accent that , "Yes, I am German. So naturally that means I am evil, all of us Germans are evil."

Generals ("Generäle") got censored to garbage in germany. It just looked ridiculous. I remember everyone was sharing the english CDs or downloading uncut patches because noone wanted to play that stupid censored version ^^
I mean, driving barrels of dynamite instead of terrorist, seriously? What did they think we are?

My German teacher told us about things like that. The reason they have it like that is because anything Nazi related can get you sent to jail in Germany. If you have any Nazi flag, patch or any other item relating to the Nazi's you can get hit with some big ass punishments. They're very strict on that. Hey at least they removed the ban on the game! It used to be banned in Germany.
