For about 5-6 niggling reasons, after 10ish months of using Dxtory I'm frankly sick of it. It is flawed in a few ways that I doubt will ever get fixed.

So is there anything new out there that's better? I've already used all the old ones.

The latest beta of MSI Afterburner works great for me.

Audio is about 4 decibels quieter than in-game and crashes when SweetFX is used.

Lagarinth, small footprint, compatibility with SweetFX are all pluses.

Hilariously enough however, binding keys is completely bugged.

I never tried Dxtory, but I use Bandicam and it's pretty good.

The recording window is pretty cool but I doubt in the end the program itself will match up to the pure utility that other programs offer. Use the 20-minute window gimmick as a backup..unless its recording overlay screws everything else up D:

Performance/quality/size is the main aspect although twitch.tv support is a nice feature.

Dxtory +1

I like to customize what and how record. I want to decide all them settings.

Not enough settings for what I need.

So what do you need?

Multiple keybinds for one action
Ability to toggle 'screenshot' icon
Stealthier overlay so other capture programs don't show DxTory's recording status/icons
A freaking 'stop' button on the program itself that's not the keybind
Keybind to toggle overlay 'on' or 'off'
Ability to have multiple recordings at one time

But really, all this is just too good to be true.

I use XSplit. It also has livestreaming features, plugins and stuff. Really enjoy it.

I pretty much switched to MSI Afterburner from Fraps recently. Recorded audio level has no difference from ingame audio level for me, and I love it for being able to record without really affecting your performance. Using the RTV1 codec to record, although I can't really say anything about SweetFX. Just, so far, Afterburner looks just like a (free) upgrade from Fraps to me
