Scammers with links always amuse me. Even if I click the link, 99.99% of the cases Chrome already knows the scam and I'm safe.

One of the Giveaway Steam groups was reporting the same phishing scammers hitting them. They're going around.

I got the same but it was a different group.

It's not steamgifts dependent, my guess is it scans your profile and chooses a group at random, the rest of the text was the same 100%

The bot typed in 'Hello, you are lucky winner of a CS:GO gift held by our group'. Got excited for a second, but when I saw how fast everything was typed I was like shit, bot. xD

I had the same thing happen a few hours ago. I just reported and moved on. Also the Steam Summer sale is about to begin. The new "mystery" card set is out :D

I don't add anyone, ever, unless I've already had prior and recent contact with them.

For the internet, use NoScript+AdBlock+CommonSense.

Noscript in particular is really needed especially in case you lack common sense.

A few of the groups i'm in reported similar scam attempts (apparently few people fell for it)

This is just a simple phishing scam that uses a steamgifts url. These types of scams have been happening for a very long time in numerous large online communities.

The one I saw was just picking a group: http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/8SXkH/new-type-at-least-to-me-of-scam-bot, and this one of yours also says group, so it was likely a random pick too

They aren't limited to steamgifts only,i also noticed the opium pulses one with same words about prized,but saying pulses instead.

I think they get some good accounts with this scam and use them in future to get more profit, that's why we can find lvl 10 bots with a lot of games

Got one of them too,it was obvious scam,but sadly some ppl fall for that. Before that they were offering me CS:GO items,all I had to do is take a look at 'screenshot' and give them my acc xD Tnx for spreading the word :)

A new form of scam. Some private profile posted on my profile like this: "Hi, is that your picture {link}? I just found you on the net, haha"
