So, the Steam Summer Sale is upon us, and to be honest it's pretty disappointing. From my entire wishlist, only three games over 75% discount, the vast majority are at 30-50% off. And I know, I shouldn't complain... 30-50% off is still a very fine deal. But I guess I've been spoilt by years of 80-90% off discounts, and it's made me a somewhat patient and frugal gamer. I'm quite happy to wait for a decent price as I feel less guilty about spending my money on it.

Anyway... while I couldn't find much to buy myself, I realised many of my favourite games in my library are on sale. So I ask you, take a look through your library and pick out some of your favourites, and it they have a reasonably good sale price right now, recommend them to everyone! Not a strict rule, but try to recommend games that are at least 50% off or more at the moment.

I'll start then:

Transistor is one of my favourite games of all time. I really can't recommend it enough. Beautiful soundtrack, beautiful artwork, I loved the gameplay mechanics - they took the already great Bastion style gameplay and improved on it immensely. Everyone should play this game. Currently 75% off.

Mark of the Ninja is probably still my favourite indie game. Stealth platformer with a great atmosphere, tight controls and excellent gameplay. Loved it. Hell why not splash out on the Special Edition! Both are currently 75% off.

Recettear is an amazing little game. Manage a shop, hire adventurers to explore dungeons to get rare items to sell, raise your prices and get rich. Capitalism, ho! Seriously fun game, I've played through it twice. Currently 75% off.

Gunpoint is just awesome. Fantastic writing lift this ordinary looking stealth game above most of the others. Tom Francis, the one man dev team, is amazing. A mix of puzzle, strategy, stealth, action.. watch the videos to get an idea, but this is a great little game. Currently 75% off.

Ori and the Blind Forest is an outstanding platformer. When you get in to it and start unlocking more abilities, it's up there with the best of the genre like Mario, Metroid etc. Really nicely done, with great artwork and music to top it off. Currently 75% off. might only be a discount if you own the original version?

The Long Dark is a very decent survival game. Bought it a long time ago in Early Access, it's still in Early Access but the devs are pretty active and it has improved a lot since then. The kind of game you can get drawn in to the atmosphere and lose a few hours. Currently 66% off.

Party Hard is a simple but addictive stealth/action pixel graphic game. It actually took a lot more strategy to complete than I first expected. Really good fun, entertainingly violent, worth it for the price. Currently 75% off.

12 is Better Than 6 plays like a western Hotline Miami. I really enjoyed it. It's fairly short, but good fun and worth your time. Currently 70% off.

And... well I guess this will get more exposure with a few giveaways to bump. Here you go!

Level 5 - Transistor

Level 5 - Mark of the Ninja

Level 4 - Recettear

Level 4 - Gunpoint

If you feel inspired to create some giveaways, feel free to post them and i'll add the link to this post!

MiniTaurus has shared two SEA region giveaways with us. Thanks!

Most of my favorite games are on sale, but almost none of them are that good of deals. Brothers and Harvester for $1.50 each is good, but I feel the others are priced too high for me.

Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons -90%
Antichamber -75%
Fez -50%
Portal 2 -75%
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl -60%
The Cat Lady -66%
The Longest Journey -66%
Mafia II -75%
Machinarium -70%
Mirror's Edge -75%
Harvester -75%
Cave Story+ -66%
To The Moon -80%

Harvester is an amazing horror adventure game. It's by far one of my favorite adventure games. Bought it for 0,59 cents, never regretted it :D

Majesty Gold HD, 75% off One of the most entertaining RTSs I've ever played. A bit dungeon keeper-ish
Panzer Corps, 50% off Panzer General, but with a better interface. Lots of DLC, but the DLC is also really good.
Pillars of Eternity, 60% off. It's like Baldur's Gate... but better!
Blackwell Bundle, 70% off. Great point & click adventure games with memorable stories.
Dungeons of Dredmor Complete, 50% off. The discount might look small, but for 3€, it's a steal.
Avernum: Escape from the Pit, 70% off Excellent and lengthy CRPG. Ugly, but with a good story and gameplay.
Gothic Universe, 80% off. Three great CRPGs for those who look for a challenge in their games. For 1€ more you can get the Gothic + ArcaniA pack, which contains 3 more games, but those will just be library fillers, as they are not just bad, but really terrible.

If you like story rich games, I recommend Broken Age (80% off). The puzzles are a bit far-fetched sometimes but it feels like a nice point-and-click adventure and it's beautiful.
MechaNika is also 70% off.
Dreaming Sarah is 90% off, but I don't feel the length of the game justifies the original price. This is a decent deal though.
I second the person who recommended To The Moon as well.

Most of my actual favourites have (almost) no discount at all though :/

The LucasArts Adventure and Monkey Island packs contain some great classic games in the same vein at a good price.

They do. Sadly not for my OS, so I'm skipping =)

The GOG editions of the game in the first pack apparently have OSX and Linux support, so that's really a shame. :(

Anything/everything with anime bewbs in it... or Duck Game it's fun as hell but it's pretty much online only due to it being a deathmatch, solo play is challenges to get hats and don't be put off cuz it has Duck in the title it's an Adult Swim game.

imo, anyone that is put off by a game revolving around ducks is just plain silly :P

+1 to that! Adult Swim as a publisher can honestly do almost no wrong :)

Rocket League, obviously. I don't even like sports games, and I love Rocket League. Except for when I'm bad at it, in which case, I hate Rocket League. xD

If you like FPS and/or RPG, I'd strongly recommend to buy Borderlands 2 GOTY. Fairly cheap price for potentially hours and hours of fun.

Contrast -75% $3.74 Would've liked to see more to the game, but still very different and very good!
