I saw people's profile and they enter like 1000 or more just to win 2 or 3 games.
If I donate more games, does the chance go higher?
It's getting frustrating.

Didn't get my first win before over 1,000 GA entered. Haven't won much since but I'm getting better.
I recommend the puzzle GA as they tend to have less entries and they can be fun to play too.
I must say most of my luck came after I joined the Unlucky7 group (even though I only won one game with them), so maybe look them up and spread some karma. It'll happen. Don't give up.
If you do a few more GAs, you might even get added to whitelists ;)

There are giveaways on this site that you can enter (that is, they don't require high level) and that have very few or even no entries. You just need to look harder...

Really? You just need to go to the comment I posted in the previous post, click the SGTools link, then follow the guide I linked earlier. At the moment there is only 1 entry and 9 hours to go, so your chances are pretty good if you manage to follow the instructions.

I've entered 32,435 and won 634, so that's around every 50 entry wins
that's because I join a lot private GAs hidden behind puzzles where sometimes the winning chances are even 100% (had that a around 20 times or so) and groups where you also can have really good chances
but all in all you still need luck to win (unless in the 100% GAs, there it is certain)

Thats not because you enter many private giveaways, thats because you have no games. You win the whole shit everybody is buying in the bundle.

There are over 20000 games on Steam, unless you have some crazy-high number like 9-10k+ you are unlikely to run out of stuff to enter. I have 5300+ games on Steam, yet I win on average once per 28 entries.

28? Since when did your stats become this bad? o.0

since steam gifting policies changes. a lot of non-bundle gifting in SG groups was done via Steam Gifts, usually bought during sales for later usage, gifting changes didn't exactly kill-off groups but dramatically reduced number of non-bundle GAs in groups, where there were like 40-50 GAs per month now there are maybe 10. Also add new region price restrictions - until recently I was in EU region which meant I could only enter EU GAs, US gifts not to mention other regions that used to be ROW were over 10% price difference and thus couldn't be gifted to EU. In general - proportiion of my group entries to public entries drastically changed, and even high level public GAs have smaller win chance than group ones ;)

a looot more probably ;) I'm currently sitting at over 3300 Wins. In the last year time I've won 800 GAs, so even if you were to win at the same rate I do (keeping in mind that it will take time to get to that level first) in a year you would still be 1/4th of the way of catching up to my current number, not to mention that in this year it will prolly go further up ;)

You need Steamgifts PLATINUM to be able to win games.
It's only for the ELITE, but there's a SPECIAL DEAL JUST FOR YOU.
It's a LIMITED TIME OFFER. EXPIRES REALLY FAST.
So get your steamgifts PLATINUM NOW.

No but really...it's just rng. higher level = more giveaways you can potentially enter cause you can enter higher-level giveaways. Your chance to win doesn't change based on level. It depends on the amount of people entering a GA

Its all a matter of probability. If you enter giveaways with less entries, your odds are increased. Scouting for giveaways linked only in the forums is one way to shave off some of the potential entrants, as is aiming for giveaways hidden behind puzzles and the like. Restricted groups also increase your chances but often have requirements.

Your best bet is not to focus on steamgifts too much, make a visit here part of your usual internet routine along with whatever social media, imageboards and cat video indexes you frequent. It takes time, so try not to get hype on the idea of having cool free stuff, and before you know it you'll get something. Even if you're strapped for cash (or are just frugal) this site serves as a nice way to offload duplicate keys or unwanted games (provided they're not expressly for your use only, as some bundles may require). Unwanted games find a nice home, and you get to sneak up in contributor level.

If anything I find this place to be a great source of updates on bundles and flash deals that slipped under my radar, along with an occasional link to cool music or a horrible terrible lewd anime gif when a certain Luffy user swings on by. I was at about 1300 entries before I got my first win, but that was Bioshock Infinite back when it was still fairly new. Just make sure to enter only for what you want to play, and keep those point pumped into the right places. Enjoy your stay, your win will come in due time \:3/

It's just luck, but the lower level giveaways will of course have many more people entering, so your chances of winning are very slim. The higher level giveaways have fewer and fewer entries, so you can stand a better chance of winning.

This post has an interesting table to show the number of users per level (as of January 2018)

Private groups, whitelists, invite only GAs (puzzles, trains and etc) and high level GA is a key. You should come here several times a day, cause some GAs are short. Buy a few bundles and give to raise the level to the 3rd. Then it will be easier.

Wish you luck. I won my first GA in the second week. :)

I've recommend to use ESGST browser extension to save your time.

I've actually been fairly lucky the last little while. I mostly focus on entering things actually from my Wishlist, and things that pop in on my Recommended deal. I'm not sure that it really helps my chances of winning anything in particular, but ya'know... It's probably not a good idea to enter giveaways for games you don't want.

Contributing can definitely help your chances, as people have the option to limit giveaways based on level. And contributing is, I believe, the only way of raising your "Contributor Value" Level. People contributing a lot of games are less plentiful than people only donating a little bit.

one thing i can tell you, when i started in this web i maked some giveaways and then i won a few games, once i stopped doing giveaways because i don't have money all changed.

-at start every 2 months i win arround 2-3 games
-then i stopped making giveaways and you know what?? all changed at same time, after more than 1 year whitout win nothing and spending all my points every time i decided to stop using this web for giveaways.

it's obvious that if you don't make giveaways you are not going to win games, the chances change accordly whit how many giveaways you do, one of the proof it's easy to see, just navigate to a randoms profiles that make giveaways.

this web it's not random, absolutely not random. i even remember to read in this web a few months ago that they changed the "chances" to win a game, if you don't make giveaways your chances get lower, the contrary if you make giveaways that you get highter chances.

Permalink

if you stop giving away games, does your level go down as well?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

no but if you your games that you giveaway in the future will be in any bundle they will give you less points, then your level can get lower, that happened to me i was lvl 4 but then some of my giveaways converted to bundle games months later that i buyed the game at full price and maked the giveaway. and then i lose my lvl 4 and now i'm lvl 3.

this web it's full of hipocrits about giveaways, almost all high level it's because they maked all the giveaways for all the shit games they don't want and if they make a decent giveaway it's always for a small group of arround 20 people, probably all friends that help them to level up highter.

for me the real "giveaway" person is the one that make some giveaway or give for free some games using this web but not making the giveaway, simple making a post and no winning any points for give for free that game. obviously only good games count for that.

but well...... the fact it's:

1-you make a giveaway for a GTA V you will get a lot of points and level (let's say you are level 0 and after this giveaway you are level 4)
2-GTA V appear in any bundle from internet (humble bundle , indiegala etc....)
3-now this GTA V giveaway give you less points and you lose 2 levels, now you are level 2.

another fact:

1-you don't make giveaways = you will have very little chances to win a randoms game and almost none for don't say none, to win a triple AAA game (50$ unbudle cost game)

as a personal opinion i hate the high level people that only make giveaways whit shit bundle indie games that no one wants and then come here saying i'm super cool because i givedaway 151465465496 games!!!. i usually blocked that people when i maked giveaways 1 year ago.

That's not correct, your level would decrease only if you gave it away after the bundle date but we hadn't already marked it as bundled yet

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

no. you are wrong, your level will decrease even if you givedaway before the bundle.

i was lvl 4 before some of my giveaways was bundles months after i maked the giveaways.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

He is correct. The bundle list has a date. The date is not the day it was added, it is the day the 85% CV reduction is valid from. If you made a giveaway starting before that date, you will not get a CV reduction.
It is true that the validation date can be several months older than the day it was added, but the reduction rules remain the same. I have given away games that were bundled several times by now, but since I gave them away weeks before their first bundle, I retain the full 100% CV for them to this day, over a year after the giveaway.
Similarly, I made once a giveaway that started two days before the game was given away for free. I still got CV for the giveaway and I have that CV to this day. By your logic, I should have 0 CV for it by now.

The system has been working like that for at least three years. Nothing was changed in the workings, but people cannot understand the concept of "valid from date" when it is happening retroactively.

win in public giveaway is kinda hard. usualy it's more than 1k entries
if not 10k for very popular game
most of my wins are in group.
for example rpg group with only 100 people.

To increase your luck or chances of winning you would want to join a group that does group giveaways so there is less entries and in turn a greater chance at winning.

I remember myself when I first joined this website I joined a group called Unlucky7 which was a group for those that haven't won a game and you can stay in the group until your 8th win and then you have to leave, or stay as a gifter.

So I think for you, just find a similar group with fewer people to increase your chances at winning games, most of the games I have won were in group/invite only, or if they were public they only had like less than 1k entries.
