72 entries is nothing. For example, if a giveaway has a 1000 entries, then you will need to enter 1000 of them to have a chance of winning one based on probability. Just keep going and luck will go your way eventually. The amount of giveaways you make has nothing to do with you winning. Joining groups may improve your chances though.

You were very lucky and are the exception to the rule. Most have to enter WAY more than that before seeing their first space cat!

many years ago? but you registered 10 months ago? hmm...

Me too!! I won a game the first time I registered in SG, I was very surprised

it has nothing to do with winning
it's all LUCK
just use ALL your point at least once a day (max points is 400)
you can also join everything and not giving any, although some people will blacklisted you for that (i personally don't care)

you can see your probability here: https://www.steamgifts.com/stats/personal/community
increasing your level gives you access to more giveaways to reach level one you just need 1 non free game giveaway
invite only links can you find if you follow the forum, they have typically lower entries thus higher win chances
since your are new here: welcome to steamgifts
be sure to check the guidelines and the FAQ

I don't care but you should think the possibilities of gaining from bundle, amazon prime, gift, having money before but now don't,the games he wants is much and expensive, gained them while free ... and mix of these possibilities
Idc just saying if you didn't think those possibilities if you didn't
You might can right or wrong idk

You just said in the comment above:
72 is not a lot. Stop whining, it's free.
And then proceeded to claim that 76 games is a huge library. It's quite humorous even when I know they are 2 totally different things.
Almost a sidenote: if you really went out of your way to ckeck out somebody's profile, you could have gone just a step further and find out that many among them are titles given away for free. Nah, it's easier to claim somebody's a liar.

Do the basic math on the chance of winning and you will see the validity of above comments, saying you need 1000+ entries.

It's funny. Every time I see this topic is when I'm on a losing spree. I haven't won since November 9th, but I'm not complaining. I feel that I have won my fair share now. So I don't ever expect to win. No expectations, no disappointment.
As others have said, 5 days and 72 entries is nothing. Try entering GA's for games that aren't on your wishlist or are AAA only. You might just be surprised as how you might like them.
Edit- Also try joining some groups like Unlucky 7.

He needs to stick around a bit (older SG account) or give away some games to join U7, don't think he meets those requirements yet.

Ah, that's right. I never had to join so I forgot the timeline. But i'll leave the group link up for future reference for the OP anyway.

Try entering GA's for games that aren't on your wishlist
I'd like to add, that trying to win any game at any cost should not be your goal here in my opinion, because you might end up with games you don't really want to play. On the other hand, checking out games from beyond one's wishlist and maybe adding them there if you think you like them is a neat idea.

Read the FAQ, guidelines and ToS.
How are giveaway winners selected?
All giveaway entries are treated equally, and when a giveaway ends, the site will randomly select a winner. Users that are suspended during the selection process are unable to win, and their entries will be excluded when the winner is generated.
With this information do the math.

You can win. Many people win the first giveaway, and then they make the giveaway themselves.
And many give giveaway and never win.
It all depends on luck. Do not worry.
You participated in 72 giveaways, that's very little.
If you're curious, I win about 1 giveaway out of 550 enteres

Sometimes there are hidden draws and they usually have relatively few entries, also solving puzzles can increase your chances of victories :)

I won my first win before i created a giveaway, so yes, you can. You might need to avoid the public ones since they usually have a lot of entries compared to the private ones. But again, i only win once so i can't say much either.
Good luck!

Yes, it really is. I was also having a blast with it. It's like all of my yearly luck goes into that win, hahah.

Well.. As you can see, I am level 5. So, I've been here for 2 years already and since that time I've entered 14800 giveaways and only won 14. I've never won AAA games, just indie, but gave away some games like Dark Souls and Call of Duty. It's really sad. But I want to say that, I've started with Unlucky-7 group. All my first 7 wons were from them. So you can try this method. It helped me. From now, I don't expect to win AAA game here. In fact, I don't believe that it possible either. But you can increase probability by entering private giveaways, search closed groups. But most of them require you ratio to be more than 1:2. And finally, high level giveaways have a lot fewer participants, so you have big chances. At lvl 5 you have 100-500 entries, at lvl 8 50-100, at lvl 10 you can meet 10-15 entries giveaways.

Like others have said, it is all about luck. I was extremely lucky and won the very first giveaway I entered, and it had over 2,500 entries. Just keep trying and you will eventually win something.
And as others have also said, joining giveaway groups will give you much better odds. Unlucky-7 is a good place to start, but you will need to be active on this site a bit longer before you will be eligible to join. Playing Appreciated you could join sooner by committing to play a game in your library that you haven't played yet (and if you join, you are required you play any games you win or you will be kicked out). If you do decide to join a group, just make sure that you read and understand all of the group rules and requirements for joining before you apply.

Unlucky 7 is for people with at least 2 months here.

Yes, know. That is why I said "you will need to be active on this site a bit longer before you will be eligible to join".

I'm just adding to what you said by giving more information. Not trying to be rude.

Giveaways you create help you in the sense that they can increase the level of the giveaways you can enter. The only real way to increase probability of winning is to enter as many as your points allow, and you can enter more the higher your level.

Honestly, It would not be worth my time if I was at least level 1. Maybe a week or two at the most.
I wish I could be level 10, but to be honest, theres not much difference in chance after level 4 as the number of giveaways available drop off.
Yet, every level I achieved up to 4 was well worth it in better chance to win in my opinion.
Basically, if you are going to stay at level 1, you are going to experience alot of logging in everyday and clicking for months. You are one of many, many people who can enter a level 1 Giveaway.
At my level, I still question the amount of personal time I spend entering GA's. I could take on a 2nd part time job and buy more games than I have won. Entering GA's is a game in itself her for me. Plus I accidently click on an ad every once in awhile which hopefully helps the website.

Nice hints I wish I could know when I first joined this site:
– if you're going to level up for the sake of leveling up, level 5 is all you need in my opinion,
– generosity might feel nice (there are many factors to it but for instance I feel even worse when I'm generous and when I'm struggling with money myself and super nice when I feel financially safe),
– join groups like Playing Appreciated and Unlucky 7,
– enter things you really want to play, it will save you a lot of headache later,
– be active on forums (if you like this place, help developing it with events, cool discussions, puzzles – giving away isn't required),
– be nice, kind, polite, don't let yourself get dragged into dramas and fights,
– lurk on forums to solve puzzles with giveaways as a prize, look for hidden giveaways in discussions, take part in cool events like drawing and karaoke contests, advent calendars etc.,
– talking about blacklists results only in more blacklists,
– bad ratio usually results in blacklists,
– don't take blacklists too personal if they happen, they are a drop in the ocean anyway (besides sometimes people blacklist you because they want to make sure every giveaway won a different person),
– never ask for games or even hint that you're asking for games, not even ask for giveaways of games (unless someone proposed it to you first and you're just answering to that proposition),
– don't argue with moderators, even if you think you're right,
– don't try to interpret rules on your own advantage, it won't work anyway,
– activate your wins and double-check if you're activating it on your main account, not your friend's, girlfriend's brother's account and not your alt account (it will cause suspension even if it's honest mistake + you will be excluded from some giveaways until you buy the same game yourself and activate on your main account),
– you have much higher chance of winning forum giveaways than public giveaways,
– usually it takes between 1000-2000 entries to win something, some are more lucky, some are less lucky but it will eventually happen, this site is legit,
– if you feel super generous and you don't care about your levels be sure you're doing it for the sake of being generous because you might feel disappointed otherwise,
– check Help tab to learn some cool things in FAQ and Comment Formatting sections. For example how to do this :)
Feel free to respond to this comment anytime if I could help you with something. Have a nice time on this site!

Hang in there, you've got this. :P
I won my first SG giveaway just around the time I hit the 1k entries mark. And I've heard of worse, still.

I mean I have participated in a lot of giveaways and not won any and I don't have enough money that I can afford hosting one, is there any way I can even win a giveaway?
