You will see on your badges page how many drops you have left.
It takes about 15 to 30 min for a random card to drop.
Some people say you had to be TF2 premium before the trading card beta started to get all 5 TF2 drops without spending $9 in the Mann Co store.

Ok I Idld for several hours. I did get weapon drops that are tradeable. So perhaps what Psycho345 said before may be accurate ... I have to spend $9 to get the cards to drop in my case..

You have spent approximately $2.49 USD in the game after this card set was released.
Progress to next card drop
.. and then the bar shows up toe $9.
So 100% accurate I need to spend up toe 9$.. which isnt worth it really. I mean if I buy more in game keys I guess but they are much cheaper on the marketplace (and elsewhere).

They ended up fixing it, TF2 is now similar to Dota2 in that you have to premium your account prior to the beta. At the beginning of the beta, all you needed was to have to a premium TF2 account (regardless of when you made it premium) to get the 5 card drops. Now, new premium accounts won't get the default 5 card drop limit, only 1 card per $9 spent.

Waisted? Im not sure what you mean. I didn't use the key. I just bought it from the Man-Co Store. I still have it, just its locked till June 13th (as in not tradeable).

I activated the TF2 account on an alt to farm items but figured just as well to do it by buying a key (which I can resell). Was thinking as a by-product Id get 5 TF2 Cards I could resell for 25 cents a pop.

In Steam, if you go to your Badges page does it show TF2 as a badge in progress? If it does, it should tell you how many drops are remaining.
I'm not sure how the system works if you activated Premium post-beta launch.

And if you did that before the Winter sale 2 years ago, you would have gotten 99999999 coals that you could have crated into coupons and Bad Rats ;)
Plus you might have 9999999 Tuxes and 9999999 Manniversary Paper Hats.

Yeah, I know, and if I remember correctly, that was one of the reasons why the Humble Bundle minimum for Steam keys was increased to $1.

Ok I just activated TF2 (bought a TF2 Key) making it Prem. I am able to get drops right away that are tradeable.
My question is ...
How long do I have to wait before I get TF2 Trading card drops .. or is it even possible because I activated TF2 AFTER activating the Beta TCC.
