Where is the 75% off voucher?

I don't approve of shady business tactics...If a game is re-released on PC after 3 years. It should be at a reasonable price.
The Halo Master Chief Collection is a great example of how a console remaster should be priced

Then people wonder why some devs won't bother with PC

Guess you're new to the gaming scene...devs don't bother with PC because they are cheap and lazy
Its easier to make a game when you have a single hardware spec to test on. A single ignorant market that wows at everything. and no modding community.

What stopped them from developing for PC 3 years ago?
They're only bringing it here because you will buy it again full price.

Likely contract and licensing restrictions stopped them from developing for PC 3 years ago...

Seeing as many vendors (like GMG) are selling it at launch at around $42-45...it's a good deal.

Has never been that way. Not in the AAA business. As soon as their stats tell them that they can earn a significant amount of money, they will develop for PC. 20 years ago they couldn't earn enough money to justify development, now they can. Which is why we see so many games ported to PC. Management in AAA games publishers will never say "we could sell 1M copies, but we're just not in the mood right now." ;)

Horizon is a little different, since it was an exclusive PS title. That's what stopped them from developing for PC.

I agree, though, that 30 or 40 bucks would have been a more fitting price. 3 years is a little too old for 50€.

They're only bringing it here because you will buy it again full price.

Are you actually implying they mainly sell it, so that their PS customers can buy the game again? I believe the amount of people who actually buy any game twice is always extremely small. Even in cases like GTA those people probably represent only a tiny fraction of the player base.

The irony is that it can be more difficult to develop for a console since you are limited by its hardware constraints, that's why they are now adding the quality that was not possible at launch. A lot of these 'improvements' were available since development...just not feasible on consoles.
Console exclusivity will always equate to laziness for me. A lazy approach to sell more stripped down PCs by locking out the competition.
Yet they make it seem like they're doing us a favor when they 'remaster for PC'.
I'm sorry but its an insult to be asked to pay full price for re-heated leftovers.

Yeah a game that came out just 3 years ago is totally old.

3 years is totally old....after 3 years do you see any games sell at full just because they added new textures, light filters and unlocked the frames.
These things cost little to implement. Other devs give the remaster for free.
I bet you modders will do better after its released, way better than a lot of lazy devs

in terms of video games pricings yes it is. that "i saved $8 and got it for only $42" from op is so ridiculous it sounds like an ad

This isn't about prices. He flat out said the game itself is old.

...& while you're learning to laugh., Mafta III released just 4 years (young enough for you) gave everyone the remaster for free

I guess by your logic Maifia 3 is old too for being released fairly recently.

You see them sell at full price even without any improvements. But also, it's 50€ instead of 60€, it's an exclusive that they could've just as easily buried after their exclusivity ran out and you can also wait. Your entire argument's based off of being a patient gamer without the patience.
The expectations are wild. Feel free to have them, but you'll never be satisfied. I wish things were like that, but they've never been.

Rather wait and see if it gets to PC or I can live without it

That was a reply to the poster above complaining about it not being 75% off right away on PC release. So he said to buy on PSN for $5 instead.

I know, and I feel like there's work that has to be done to get it to work on a complete other platform and maybe another team entirely and that comes at a cost so I get why it's not $5 on release here. I wasn't attacking there just saying that I'd rather have it here than not at all and spend the money on a great game that is entirely worth it versus even considering a console that will rot. Age doesn't equal worth and that goes in both directions.

Bought it the day it had an "add to cart" button on Steam, and no regrets.
It's one of those titles I'd been hoping would eventually make its way to PC.
Just gotta finish Death Stranding first.
