True. Also read the article and there's a big chance that they will re-launch the game on Steam after all the legal work.

The article mentioned that steam keys would not be accepted, so I didn't know if HB was a valid site.

When a game is removed from the store due to DCMA, all Steam keys become invalidated.
https://steamdb.info/sub/86493/info/

status Unavailable (2)

^ Whenever you see that, it means the keys generated for sale have been nullified. However, if the developer generated keys meant for press, then those will still remain active, which is the case here.

Unless you happen to come across a steamgift copy or dev keys, there is no way to get a Steam copy atm. Just need to wait for the 14 days to pass for it come back.

I was almost hoping that this whole Alex Mauer situation would sort of stay under the radar. Expanded audience will probably push her crazy to new levels, and it's already dangeously high.

Not a chance. Kotaku/Polygon shitholes will gladly pick this up and parade this under "those pesky misogynistic gamers threatening another trans gamedev."

Maybe it flew under their radars or it wasn't newsworthy enough? Or maybe they arent picking this up precisely because Alex Mauer looks like a proper wacko and an asshat? Hell, I dunno, and I'm not not really interested in this either (I just want to have an ability to buy RCR on Steam)

Can still be bought here http://store.steampowered.com/sub/86493/
But it should be back quite soon.

You can add it to the cart, but you won't be able to check out. It has happened in the past, where a game is pulled due to a DCMA but they have left the sub open.

I've followed the situation with Alex Mauer for a bit over a week on YouTube. The sad bit is how slow YouTube and especially Steam is on reacting about situations like these. Most likely Alex will still try to do as much damage as possible before all the restraining orders are in place and then there will be a long and tedious court marathon to sort all damage. She'll most likely never work as a composer for games again and will be paying a lot of money to a lot of people. Just mind boggling how easy it is to take down games and videos without any kind of substantial proof.

It might be where society is heading. Silencing people you disagree with in social circles or as some corporate dinosaur, try to keep hold of your remaining power.

Ofc it was, since Mauer's rampage continues. He should be in jail already.

Jesus fucking Christ, is this situation a clusterfuck on Twitter. Monthly reminder that someoneone being an asshole is not an excuse for being a transphobic prick to them. I mean, fuck her and the horse she rode in, but that's not a carte blanche to be a douchenozzle yourself.

Anyone using music from this poor excuse of a composer should remove it from their games and terminate any contracts with her. Make her go bankrupt!

Not like anyone will want to do shit with her - great recommendation that you DMCA'd what the previous employers published, claiming that you have the rights for it while clearly not

Then they would lose what they paid and have to pay for new music.
The Starmazer DSP devs went too far into accommodating that piece of shit, and she still spat on their faces.

Hmm, I kickstarted this game and I'm disappointed to see that it's (even if only temporarily) been removed from the Steam store. Hopefully it will return soon, and I guess it's a good warning for any developers to stay well away from Alex Mauer.
