Why so slow?

Why points earn so slow? No, really. When, earlier, I could get about +40-70 points, now I get ~5-15.
Or earn sysetm was changed or it because of Dota 2? (I'm about 10p for it)

It's actually better with lower amount of points. You will enter only the games you really want, not all on your sight. This will increase an average odds of winning for everyone.

It really depends on what games you want, what you don't want (or already have), and at which rates the two groups are given away. If a person mainly want rare low-point games, they'll always have enough points, but if they want common high-point games, they won't be able to enter all of them. There have been times when I wanted the point ratio to be higher (since I was missing a lot of nice giveaways) and times when I wanted it to be lower (since I had trouble finding games I wanted enough to enter).

(for second question)It was the Dota 2 thing. They were being flooded, giving us loads of points.

Not only do they give less points but they aren't being made anymore it seems lol.

I am most of the time on 300 points, what do you do with the points - are you eating them? I am not entering games I don't wanna play so I have much more points than I need. In fact people are winning games which they will never play because of so many points - that's sad...

Slow?! Rarely does a day start when I'm not at 300 points. That said I don't really enter very often any more. Only for games that I particularly want and only if I feel I have a reasonable chance of winning. Heck even giveaways that do conform to these conditions I'll often not enter anyway. I'm not sure why. Perhaps I start to feel that other people would appreciate the game more than me. Besides, I have enough games that I never have the time to play, no real use building up my Steam library any more than it is without the prospect of actually being able to work my way through it.

This is me as well most of the time.

Except recently there were quite a few games I really wanted being given away, so I'm climbing back up steadily now :P
