Edit:
Well, this was underwhelming, to say the least. Top 20 spot on the wishlist of the entire community and barely a few hundred votes gave a fuck.
At any rate, as I promised, here is the link to the giveaway. The undisclosed/secret SGTools-protected choice won, so, here it is:

http://www.sgtools.info/giveaways/b7604ad0-d50c-11e8-a57a-fa163ee2f826

Let's play a little community game, shall we? You may call it Greed-o-Meter, if you wish. Or, if you are the rarer kind of SteamGifts user, call it Altruism 'R' Us.

It is a simple game.
I have one key (supposedly worldwide) for the recently released ReCore PC port. It is currently sitting on the prestigious 16th spot of the SteamGifts community wishlist, and had only two giveaways created for it (one pritave, one groups-only).

Normally, I would post the key in the form of a 4-week-long fully public L0 giveaway with some snarky comments about the user base around here.
Now, however, I am letting the community decide its fate in the form of a little poll. A poll combined with a reading comprehension exercise, meaning, the actual winner will be the one that had the second highest number of votes. (This setup should be familiar for Americans. :3)

The choices are the only ones posted in the poll. No other possibilities exist in this little game, no matter how much you want to voice your dissatisfaction. If you don't like the choices, you are free to spend the 17 bucks on a key you give away the way you choose to.

The rules for the disclosed SGT choice are as follows:
You have at least one multiple win infraction (you fail the "no multiple wins" rule) and one of these: community ban, VAC ban, or unactivated wins.
OR
Your number of won games to number of sent games ratio is over 500 (and not the other way around).
OR
You have fewer than 100 games on your Steam account, and none of them can be a game published or developed by Valve, nor a game in the battle royale genre.
OR
You have more than 10000 wishlisted items on Steam, including ReCore, which also has to be wishlisted before 2018-09-21.
OR
Your level is in the 6.65–6.67 range
OR
You own every single game published on Steam by Microsoft Studios but this one (24 in total).

As for the unsisclosed one, if it wins, it will remain hidden. There is an equal chance for it to be a lot harsher than the listed ruleset or have no restrictions at all beyond being an SGTools link. Its ambiguity is mandatory.

The poll runs until this Sunday (2018-10-21), the day I will create the decided giveaway.

What kind of giveaway should I use to post my ReCore key?

View Results
Level 0, public, no region locks

Level 2, public, region locked: all countries except Russia, Brazil, China
Level 10, public

If someone can prove that he satisfies simultaneously all SGT rules, what will he win ?
(Granted, Won/Sent > 500 + level 6.66 + fewer than 100 games on steam is not easy. You'll need a hell of a lot of unactivated wins)

I actually swallow the cost and buy that person a key for the game, gratis.

Won/Sent > 500 (...) fewer than 100 games on steam

I wonder if person like that even exist.. But who knows xD

Mathematically, can be. It needs hundreds of not activated wins flying past everyone, since normally it means a permaban. But I have reported a guy with several dozens of not activated wins (almost 100% of his wins) that went on for way over a year, so it is possible.

I doubt it. With the requirement of one's level in the 6.65–6.67 range, that seems pretty much impossible. Every game sent would have to be very high in value, because each would require 500 more wins, all unactivated (or DLC).

can be achieved without rule breaking. in theory. Just won shitload of dlc's, like the cosmetic ones, or just for fantasy grounds. 25 games minimum (unless those m$ games have that much dlcs)

It would be even better if you couldn’t see the poll results (and can change your choice) but it still interesting what will happen

Trump lost the US popular vote in 2016, but won the election because he won the archaic electoral college system they use for presidential elections...

He wasn't the first either, Bush beat Gore the same way in 2000, and I'm sure there have been others too.

Or maybe I'm reading this wrong.

There are a lot of people in these regions - so if you stop them for entering - you have bigger chances of winning. Theoretically.

You may call it Greed-o-Meter, if you wish.

It's social experiment xD

If the goal is to make less entrants and avoid super leechers, just set minimum level of 5-6, or even 8. Thats the best way of doing it. For example in public gas i only set level 7-8 .

In that case - racists can't read xD
There are prejudices against certain nations but i doubt that "racism" is right word to describe it.
I assumed that it's about the fact that most of discussions here are in english - and people who don't speak it don't read discussions like this and can be easily eliminated. But that's just assumption about this poll. I assume quite a lot.

While with a weaker choice I could enter - you should choose a way which assures that the winner really appreciates it. I for myself would love to win it but don't have much time to really sink into a new game :/

The more I think about it, the more I love your rules and poll options. Realistically speaking, if people want a chance at winning the game, they would have to vote for the most open option, as if it is too selective then not enough people will go for it.

Though I'll admit, there are a surprising amount of votes for lvl 8 private.

I suppose that's because high level people are most likely to participate on the forum.

Permalink

Oh, two questions.
Do you already have an idea for the undisclosed rules?
If so, should the undisclosed rules option not be the chosen winner, will you post them here so we know what we missed?

I see your madness has reached new heights, talgaby. And I love it.
Luckily I'm not interested in this ReCore game myself, so I don't need to do any mind games to figure out the best chance for me to win it.
Instead, I will be voting for the most unfair option in my opinion - thus by my logic looking to make it win and therefore not be used. Might backfire.

1st of all, I will say your generosity is outstanding as always. I actually wanted to vote for the game to be Lvl 3-4 or even 5 if you feel more comfortable or on your whim.

I consider the ReCore: Definitive Edition a "Remaster", I've seen the original gameplay on stream. It started off as a highly anticipated, Microsoft Exclusive and offers an action-adventure genre, However, it turns out to be rather dull and repetitive. I hope they add more into the definitive edition. Certainly, a bad way to compete with PS exclusives, too much hype led to disappointment.

Best Regards, Cruse~
