S2Q1: Never Forget

Clue: This cave isn't a natural formation...so it must lead somewhere! This was a quote from Halo: Combat Evolved

S2Q2: I Am The Doctor

Clue: Doctor...Who? Amy? Is that you...Amelia Pond? COME ALONG PONDS! IT'S THE DALEKS. RUN FROM THE ANGELS!!!

S2Q3: Harry in Winter

Clue: Exlliferous Anogorflikerous, and Avada Kedavra, Katie Bell. Exlliferous Anogorflikerous. Trivia: Exlliferous Anogorflikerous can only be Googled with the exact spelling. One letter off, and you'll get no results.

S2Q4: Ingrid Michaelson

Clue: Turn to Stone This was another song by her.

S2Q5: Severus Snape

Clue: "He was the bravest man I ever knew." I thought it prudent that I should mention that if you Googled this quote, it'd be quite obvious. Unfortunately, many of you just put "Snape". I'm more of a Harry Potter purist, so I put his full name. Check the notable mentions for something funny regarding this question as well.

Final Statistics: 1106 guesses, 86 players, 26 solvers, 9 entries, 42 comments, 1 winner.

Giveaway #3: Link

S3Q1: Cruel Angel's Thesis

Clue: Evangelion The anime this song is from

S3Q2: Life

Clue: Synesthesia... This song is near the end of the anime Canaan. Synesthesia is the word that inspired my first IGN, "Synthesist", which I still use occasionally when Memoir is taken.

S3Q3: Fly me to the moon

Clue: Evangelion I haven't actually watched this anime yet, so I could not think of another clue.

S3Q4: Mind as judgment

Clue: Canaan! Once again, this is an opening song from the anime Canaan. One of the opening songs, for that matter.

S3Q5: Aimo

Clue: Skull Squadron...Vajra... These clues are factions/a species from the anime Macross Frontier. To the one person who couldn't figure out that it was simply "Aimo", you made my day. You probably didn't even need to Google this.

S3Q6: Niji

Clue: Let's hit the Trapar waves! E7 From the anime Eureka Seven (hence the E7). Trapar waves are...well, it's the basis of the anime.

S3Q7: Lion

Clue: May'n, Megumi Nakajima...M7, MF, M... The two names are singers who voiced the roles of Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee respectively. "M7, MF, M..." represented other series/seasons in the anime, notably Macross 7, Macross Frontier, and Macross.

Final Statistics: 415 guesses, 26 players, 21 solvers, 10 entries, 47 comments, 1 winner.

Creator's Words:

So when I made these giveaways, I purposely made a few of them hard (e.g. Stage 2, Question 5). While I acknowledge that this was hard, it was not unsolvable - to the one or two of you who made it all the way through without asking for help/redeeming a hint, I congratulate you.

I will now address specific issues:

  • Stage 1, Question 3: Yes, I'm aware that there are two commonly known names, "Be a Man", and "I'll Make a Man Out of You". Certainly, I could have made both of them viable answers, but after some Googling, I went with the official version, which was "I'll Make a Man Out of You".

  • Stage 2, Question 5: This is one of those questions/hints that requires you to find exactly what I was talking about, which in this case, was a video on YouTube. Nothing would make sense unless you find said video, which can be viewed here.

  • Stage 3, Question 2: I'm surprised a lot of you actually got stuck on this. I personally thought that this would be one of the easiest ones, as most of you that asked had already found the answer for Stage 3, Question 4. More explanations later.

Notable Mentions:

bobofatt - First to try, first to succeed, first to solve, first to use a hint, and last to win.

dorthie - For being the person who would idle in MQB's chat with me, and being supportive for me as I studied for school. Also, for being the only one who noticed my secret. Once again, more on that later.

JozefK - For being a total derp in a hilarious way.

Miscellaneous Tips That Would Have Helped You:

Well, I guess the one thing that dorthie noticed was that - yes, in the description of each song linked in the quizzes, I took the first letter of each word in the song title followed by where it's from. For instance, S3Q3 had "FMttME", meaning "Fly Me to the Moon - Evangelion". Likewise, this would have helped you for every question except for perhaps S2Q5. Also - no, the numbers on the song had no meaning. It was just the random order I uploaded them, followed by the random order in which I renamed them.

All in all, thanks for your participation in this quiz if you did! I'd love to see you again in my next set of puzzle giveaways...I've told a few of you about it. :) Until the next time, fare thee well.

I noticed the letters too. It's what got me through stage 3, as Evangelion was the only one of those I've seen.

Thanks again!

Same. Being able to identify which songs came from the same series with the letters was a huge help on that stage.

Reminder to self: Never do that again.

Same here, without the letters it would be much harder.

Which is precisely why the few people who made it through without my help/without noticing said letters amaze me.

Note the "CATE" at the bottom. (Meaning, "Cruel Angel's Thesis - Evangelion")

Oh gotcha. I guess I went through the quizzes so quickly (other than P2Q5), I never bothered looking around for clues LOL

Annnnnd Evangelion is the only one I haven't seen!

Funny. Evangelion was the only one I've heard songs from. Which is why I -knew- I knew 3.1 (wasn't that the CATE one?). I just didn't know where from.

Let it be known that even though I noticed what the system was, I couldn't find the answers. I came across Canaan! but couldn't find the answers to the questions involving it. I'm a bad puzzler. D=

^^ There was a reason why I called this a "Low-Medium Level Memoir Puzzle".

If I had taken out the letters and given a few less clues + a few more stages, then it would be a definite medium.

Stage 1, Question 3: Yes, I'm aware that there are two commonly known names

I think the controversy was over S1Q1 in the original topic, rather than S1Q3.

Ah, but there was issues regarding S1Q3 which I dealt with privately in chat - but yes, S1Q1 as well, I suppose.

I never made it passed Q5 on the 2nd stage since my browser is set to clear its history on exit, the hint countdown kept reseting. Without the hint, all I could find was Just Dance 2 vids and some live concerts.

It resets? Hmmmm. Should probably take that in account next time.

Funny. Maybe that's why I never got my hints? But...it kept my correct answers? I don't know...I just know I didn't get hints. Except from Memoir. <3

I haven't done extensive testing with that issue. I knew that it would reset the answers if you deleted the cookies, but I thought hints were server-side.
