I hope you guys can at least get a free game or something, FOC is really unfair for such work. I'm not going to tell you what to do with your free time but I think some sort of compensation would actually be correct in this situation.
Remember that you're actually saving them a big buck with this.

Yah, I'm aware of that.
We're the one volunteering to do it for free, so it can't be helped much. It largely depends on the individual. Some would want something back as compensation, but some would settle with being able to say 'Hey, I translated that game into language and my (name/group) is mentioned!'
But again, I also hope that the devs would give at least give the translators something in return. There's a lot of good devs out there, so I'm sure they'll spare the translators a thing or two :)

But the translation group can ask the developers for permission.
/Sorry for my bad english/

Apparently it's closed? Should have applied when I first saw it... Anyway, great initiative!

hi, i can translate from english to portuguese (eu). i'm studying to become a doctor so i could only have a few hours(2-6) per week to translate. if you are short in portuguese translators i could feel the gap until you find someone with more experience.
If you do need portuguese translators and are unsure if i am up to the task feel free to test me. i really like games and i wouldn't mind helping some devs geting the game to more people.

Heya everyone.
From the title, some of you might recall seeing something similar last year. Well, the previous leader had to leave since he couldn't maintain the group anymore. I don't want the group to just disappear like that, so I volunteered to manage everything.
Basically, Greenlight Translator is a bunch of bilingual gamers who volunteer to do translations for games that they like.
You can get more info on the group page I linked above.
Feel free to ask anything.
Accepting new application again. Read update 2 and 5
Here's the form if you're interested
update 1: Received about 65 volunteers now. Gonna process them first and determine what language requires more volunteer. So form is closed
update 2: We've reached full capacity for Russian and German translator. You can still apply, but I can't guarantee the existing team will accept you.
update 3: Now accepting new translators again. Also, list of current translators
update 4: sorry, previous greenlight link didn't work. We changed the group link but I forgot to update them here.
update 5: Spanish is also full now.
