Hey, I just came up with this idea:

Sometimes I come across an interesting giveaways, but it didn't start yet and is only coming soon. Later on I forget about it and never see it again, while I would have been able to enter, just completely forgot about it.

Maybe add a button inside the giveaway to remind you when it started? Maybe add a yellow box, just like the green one saying "One of your remembered giveaways has started, check it out here".

You could also do that for other giveaways you want to follow, simply add a button with "Follow this giveaway". Might be interesting for puzzled private giveaways, which you wont enter and therefore won't be listed anywhere for you. You could add a new option in the User Settings on top of the page: Giveaway -> View Followed.

There's also the Bookmark option in your browser or whatever it is called, work wonders.

This kind of stuff is to fast changing. If a giveaway says "coming soon" I only know when it starts, not how long it lasts. I had to check everything manually and update my bookmarks quite regularly while it could be integrated into this site to automatically notify any user who's interested. The bookmarks had to tell me when them starts otherwise I keep checking tons of links just to find out it still takes some days ...

Fully automatic and integrated processes are always preferable in my opinion.

Automation is good for sure, but I think the mods on this site are pretty busy with more important things to do. This is very specific and little problem, if problem at all. It's always good to try to figure new ways to do things better, but there are bigger issues right now which should be really fixed.

Definitely no need. If there's a giveaway worth entering, do it then and there. If you're missing points, opt out of something else. This way definitely promotes involvement. Also, bookmark/favorite/whatever works for all of the internets. Should be fine here. As for the 'coming soon' giveaways, there's no harm in missing a few from time to time.

Well, thats not the point.
This is about a giveaway that hasn't started yet. It might start in 5 hours, you check back in 10 while this giveaway is hidden somewhere on page 10 and you don't find it anymore. You probably won't notice if it doesn't show up on the earlier pages and at some point you missed it completely. could have been avoided if Steamgifts told you: Hey, there is this giveaway you noticed some time ago, it is live now so go and check it out.

Add bookmark and name it "check around 3p.m.". Set alarm in your PC on 3 p.m. Create notepad on desktop with link inside and name it "3 pm". There are so many ways to do that and you just want them to have more work to do...

instead of following giveaways since they go by so quick anyway, how about an option gets added and brings items from your wishlist in their own category so you don't miss the things you really really want?

Just use your bookmarks/bookmark toolbar

That's what it's there for.
