Do you think humble bundle will comeback with best bundles (AAA Indie...) or IGN killed it ?
How there is no game bundle there in humble bundle
Can we have a Staff Picks, a Jumbo bundle or an Indie Gems one? Please HB do us a solid!
i was expecting this gif https://i.giphy.com/media/3tt3TivbZ8hby/giphy.webp
haha i was yet hoping
Can't they do this crap on some other day? Like Thursday or Friday?
Ok, Humble is done for. It's obvious they want to push their Monthly or whatever they call it nowdays bundles.
if this is indicative of the upcomming quality for Month....sorry, Choice, then rip humble bundle
How are they supposed to be connected ?
It's not, though. Last couple of monthlies have been really good imo.
But it's cool to cry about Humble. :)
It seems that its cool to cry about everything. Epic, EA, humble, IGN, steam, ubisoft etc.
no crying here, but thanks for playing
way to miss the point
they are obviously completly butchering weekly games bundles, to have something to throw into the new version of monthly
Well if it wasn't for Humble we would have 2-3 good bundles in a whole year. When you have no competition you don't need to improve. Less and less (decent) developers are willing to put their games in bundles, which is understandable. Market is saturated, it is not like couple years ago when there was only Humble, and you knew all games in a bundle since they were indie hits. If they can keep up Monthly quality good I won't miss regular bundles that much.
Rather than Humble intentionally sabotaging their regular bundles to sell Monthly/Choice, it's more that publishers are less willing to put their games in cheap bundles, fully aware that they'll end up in grey markets for pennies, secondary transactions from which they won't earn anything, except for extra pressure from "non-paying" customers who might have issues.
Sure, it could be argued that they still get paid for the initial purchases... from customers who don't fiddle with sliders, that is.
In any case, the other reason, which is more troublesome for smaller companies, is that this devalues their games, so much that anything that's not AAA is considered "shovelware" (even though Humble is a far shoot from what you'd expect of DIG or Indie Gala), sold for cheap on grey markets or traded away, just because somebody would surely be willing to get anything for a +1 or a few card drops if it's cheap enough, and profitors don't mind how much they earn, as long as they do earn something.
Humble Monthly/Choice suffers more or less from the same fate, with everything but AAA games and high tier indies sold for pennies on grey markets, but on the other hand, they don't have sliders, so publishers are, at the very least, guaranteed to earn money.
Easy to guess what they'd go for given the choice (totally unintentional pun), from both a financial and visibility standpoint.
TL;DR: when in doubt, blame the profitors.
It doesn't even come as a surprise that the decline in the overall quality of bundles coincides with the surge in grey market usage and farming (and the business behind it), and Valve's anti-trader measures.
Humble needs to find a way to stop giving keys and kill the 3rd party markets. Thats the only way for bundles to get better games. I am saying the same thing for so long but the only thing i hear is that its IGN's fault. If there is no solution i am pretty sure after a few years bundles will stop being released and if any will be released it will have a really high price.
They already had direct add to account, instead of key/Giftlink, but got rid of it for some reason
you make some valid points, i just wish they would be upfront with it, and say they're dropping weekly games bundles cause Y/X reason

Never go full shovelware.
So... Probably no hope today, with Sale going on.
I remember those old Tuesdays when you knew that something really cool was going to happen at 8pm thanks to HumbleBundle.
And then greedy traders got their hands on them and now nobody wants to bundle his game.
welllll .... not yet?

No bundle. They're pushing the Jingle Jam bundle at the moment.
Not my cup of tea.
