I'm really sorry to hear that about your dog. Nothing has made me sadder in my life then when Ive lost a pet.
I played A Short Hike at a rough time in my life and somehow I found its simplicity and charm to be uplifting.
Best wishes to you and your dog, man.

Oh cool, I'm gonna take a look at that game. Thanks for the recommendation!

Sadly, she will definitely die. It's inoperable.
But thank you for the recommendation, haven't played it a long time.

Yeah, they truly are. In the end, you are effectively losing a family member, if you ask me. Well I'll see how I will deal with it once the time comes.

Oh you mean like Cookie Clicker? Sure why not. Thanks for replying.

When I had to put off my dog I was doing the same. Mindless clicking can help with not thinking xD Although it wasn't mindless clicker but diablo 2. It was about 15 years ago.

If we talk about clickers, and it's a bit uplifting as well, for a few hours I strongly recommend Human-powered spacecraft ($0.5 on sale now).

Sorry about this, I hope things get better for you and your dog. I always push Slime Rancher on people when I can, even starting the game up instantly makes me happy. Also wholesome farming sims (Stardew Valley and the like), they're good for taking my mind off things that bother me.

Oh I think I already own Slime Rancher. Thank you!

Interesting. It's the least you would expect from a game such as this. Well if you know, where I'm coming from, that is. Thank you!

Thanks!
And sorry to hear about your dog. Seems like we're in the same (or similar) boat.

Wandersong is all about finding the good in life when things seem most dire, might be worth checking out.
Sorry to hear about your dog, it can be quite devastating when their time comes. Sadly because we have such a different lifespan compared to them the day we must say goodbye will almost always come much sooner then we wish it would. Losing a loved one, no matter who or what they are, is never easy, but I wish you the best of luck in finding comfort during these difficult times.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 never failed to cheer me up with its humor, but I guess it really depends on if you'd find it funny or not.
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale has what is probably the most cheerful and optimistic main character ever. It's also very funny too.
If you just wanna let your frustration and sadness out, then One Finger Death Punch is a very straightforward game (it's played with just the mouse... the two main buttons on the mouse) with a very cathartic feel to it thanks to its fast pace and flashiness.
I could think of some other games which are "uplifting" (actually a lot of other games like that) but most of them would probably be really difficulty and frustrating for the average person. :/
Sorry about your doggie...

Hey man, I'm sorry about your dog, we have to try our best to cope with mortality.
anyway, I think Botanicula is good if you haven't played it yet :)
Minecraft Story Mode, was a really sweet game too, even though I'm not really into Minecraft but it was really fun it's not on steam though.

Well in my life I had 3 dogs.
First Kropka died of old age.
Second Saba also died of old age
Third Kama is now with me and I have her for 10 years but I think she is 11-13 years old as she was from pet shelter and people there didn't know how old she was when they found her tied to the shelter gate.
I know how fucking it hurts to lose a dog that you love.

I looked through everything I've played, and I don't see anything that's uplifting in the traditional sense, so all that I can offer is my sympathy. There are things that uplift me, personally, like Broken Reality, because I love to wander the beautiful scenery, but your mileage will likely vary.

Sorry to hear about your dog. We had to put our 15 year old dog to sleep just last summer. Stay strong, and do what you can for him/her.
As for games, I don't see it recommended here, so perhaps I'll add

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog :(
On the top of my head I can think of a couple titles:
ibb & obb - really cute coop game if you have someone to play it with
OneShot - similar to Undertale with 4th wall breaking (which I also recommend if you haven't played it) you need to do 2 runs for the full potential and it's not that long it's really cute
Slime Rancher - you can shoot with cute little things, how awesome is that
Montaro - really cute minigame but it may be touching a sensitive subject so... it's your choice
GRIS - really beautiful and relaxing, amazing soundtrack
I wound also recommend some VNs if you don't mind mostly reading and not interacting with the characters too much, it's quite relaxing and some have really cute and uplifting plot.
Also, I'm not sure but I think I responded to your request in KW, how small the internet is

I'm sorry to hear the sad news. Full of courage to you for this difficult time.
Usually, narrative games make me escape, even if only temporarily, and think about other things for a moment.
I can suggest you:
Hope you can found something here..

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. We were in your shoes a couple of years ago and I remember how much it hurt. My go tos when dealing with grief have been the Fallout games (maybe not a good idea in this case) and the Mass Effect games. Basically anything with a strong story and interesting characters. If you want something philosophical and gentle maybe Everything? Or ABZÛ?

Yeah, Fallout might just not be such a good idea and I don't like SciFi so no Mass Effect for me. But RPGs might be a good idea still. Thanks!

Hey guys,
so today I received some really dire news regarding my dog's health and I have been playing "Kind Words" ever since and the people on there were really kind and helpful so I was wondering if you know any other games which are uplifting?
Thanks in advance guys
