After not trading/gifting games for a few years I recently came back to it and reactivated my old Humble account. I remember that I still had some unused keys from various bundles somewhere, but I thought they were lost. Now in my Humble account in the keys section I have quite a lot of games that have 'Reveal your Steam key' and 'Gift to a friend' as options (so they still show up when I check the 'hide redeemed keys checkbox).

I would naturally assume that I never revealed those keys and thus no one used them, but I want to be extra sure before I gift or trade any of them. The keys are also pretty old (for example Indie Bundle 12, Jumbo Bundle 3 or 7). I guess keys still didn't expire after all these years?

Thanks for the help!

I am pretty sure keys validity is lifetime unless developer/publisher revokes it. So i think your keys are safe.

There is a chance some games could have the info saying that they are out of stock after you click on reveal the key, hope you dont get that btw :)

Now that you're a trader because you use SteamGifts, there is a bigger than tiny chance that HB will use up your keys and then refuse all support because of that.

i may be wrong, but i'm pretty sure the key is generated when you click reveal. if there aren't anymore keys available then it will tell you after you click reveal.

Some time back I had loads of old keys on HB which the site claimed had never been revealed, but I knew for a fact were already revealed and redeemed. It can be pretty buggy.

I've had keys go invalid because of publisher, but nobody has ever said anything about games I've given away from keys revealed that I know I'd redeemed previously

Holy Moly. Hi, Phitt! I have played a lot of your mods for Oblivion in years past.

First you want to refresh your page a few times to make sure that the game giftlinks/keys haven't been generated yet. There's delay bug that occurs sometimes where it will appear that they haven't been generated previously when in fact they have.

So as far as buying games on HB goes, you actually buy a key/giftlink slot till you generate the key/giftlink till you click "Reveal your key". So if you never generated a key/giftlink you should be fine and they should work np as they are being pulled from a keypool. If you are going to use them here for giveaways you want to use the "Gift to a friend" option as keys are for personal use which HB takes very seriously.

Thanks for the help, greatly appreciated! I think my questions are answered.

@Gothemasticator: Oh, nice to see a ghost from the past! Wish I still had time to mod.
