yeah, can't give any good advice, when we don't know which aspects of DRG he likes to see in another game, because there is a ton of 4-player-coop games around and DRG has some more unique features like building defences, which not many games have

Focusing solely on the First Person, PVE, and 4-player coop aspects of Deep Rock Galactic, heres a couple:
--- Cheap / bundled / deep discount sale games:
Left 4 Dead 1, 2
Payday 1, 2
Vermintide 1, 2
Back 4 Blood
World War Z
--- Games which have a more scifi theme:
Earthfall
GTFO (Multiplayer only)
Space Beast Terror Fright (Aliens themed)
Space Hulk: Deathwing
--- Extra mention:
Generation Zero (Is playable solo / does not have bots.)
L4D, Payday, and Vermintide essentially require you to have a team of 4 but I believe let bots fill in the empty slots which is good and bad in its own way. Personally cant comment much about any of these games except Generation Zero as either I do not own or have not played them to an appreciable degree to comment or recommend. Generation Zero has a few performance issues for me, and can be a bit buggy. It feels like a very different class of game to the rest as its more of a longform open world looter shooter than a short form round-based experience.
GTFO looked really interesting from a visual standpoint some years ago, but one thing that most of these games have in common is that they really want you to have a strong friend group that loves these games. You can play most of these with randoms, some have drop in multiplayer, some have bot support, and some are multiplayer only. Experience can vary wildly depending on who you play with. I feel like these sorts of games lose a lot of value if you cant start off on equal footing with friends and figure them out together.
Have been interested in DRG for awhile, but cant bite the bullet on it due to poor experiences with the Payday and Vermintide series, still looks very interesting to me by comparison though! With that said i will need to try to return to those other games in the future with better hardware to see if they're more playable.

Without a sense of what you like about DRG, people may as well just tell you to play Quake, Terraria, or Dwarf Fortress.

Looking for another game suggestion that is much alike to 'DRG', as mentioned above. 🤘
