just a while ago someone added me to do a steam trade and he tried to scam me ... ( I think )

It looks like this guy is a profesional scammer .... ( I Guess so ...)

He told me he will go first IF I HAVE 50+ reps ....(which i do not have .. at least for now . )

and he keep giving me links to dota2.ru stating that he have 170+reps but the guys name was SHADOW and his steam account (which is wasaq ) doesnt show any +rep comments and he only played 50 hours of dota2 so how did he get 170+ reps for trading doesnt make sense . it probably was stupid i almost fell for it cause that dota.ru website has green lable and i thought it was ( STEAM GREEN COLOUR LOG IN LABLE ).... ( i probably should just kill myself ... lol ... i am going to hell aren't I ? )

hope u guys can take some time to read the conversation below .. ( which u probably wouldn't do anyway ) and tell me should this nigga .. ( not sure ) should be reported ?

Didn't read the whole convo but do not trade with him. Absolutely not legit and obviously a scammer. And never ever click on links that a person gives you, because they might be phishing. And the most important thing, always check if the dude who added you actually is the guy you wrote to in steamtrades. Compare the accounts!
Never accept a trade from someone whose profile is set on private, never trade with someone who is answering to your questions with questions, never trade with someone who presses you to make the deal as quickly as possible and most important of all never trade with someone you are not a 100% sure is legit.

99,999% scammer. Rep in his profile on dota2.ru doesn't indicate anything besides that he has a 119 "thank you" on that forum (for a good post). And his steam is one month old with one f2p game.

For future reference, don't use TinyPic or PhotoBucket, both are horrible services that seem to make the image the least important thing on the page. Use something like Imgur.

Also the whole "I give it to a friend" thing is a key part of the scam. The reason they say that is otherwise you could just check their account and see that they have now have the game.

Never trade anything that cannot be put into a trade window with anyone that doesn't have a steam account that they wouldn't want to get steamrepped/trade banned.

There are plenty of other things to look at but first and foremost, if someone has 800 games, tons of achievements and playtime, screenshots and reviews and a legit friends list he most likely wouldn't want to risk his account being negatively marked like that.

Alright, I was contacted by a guy who did the same thing, although he was using a different name, a while ago. I basically don't see how this is in any way clever, I actually find that scammer to be ridiculously dumb and I feel bad for those who fall for such a weak attempt.

He pretty much told me the same thing and I, as everyone should do in such situations, told him that rep on some other site has no value to me as I am trading on steamtrades, not on the site that he lined, I of course doubted that the account he links is even his, but I did not really care as it was obvious that he was a scammer from the very beginning.

After that, he tried to pressure me and insisted that he was legit, he was doing it in a fairly hysterical way, I might add. I eventually deleted him as he was becoming boring.

In my opinion, the only methods of scamming that are hard to avoid are the ones where the scammer uses charge-backs/ stolen credit cards. This is why I advice against trading for humble store links(unless you are dealing with a trustworthy user) and I would also pay attention to keys that can be pre-ordered from the developer's site(such as planetary annihilation). Sadly, scammers are everywhere, but paying attention and not being too trustful is, in my opinion the best defense of a trader.

You're an idiot. Why do you keep saying N***a?

I don't give a shit if you're black, white or purple that word carries too much weight to be used in casual conversation.

He's from Malaysia, probably gets all of his vast knowledge on culture from gangster movies and rap videos.
