Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in one month.

The prize: Returnal

Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.

Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add you on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.

FAQ:

Why you doing this?

I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over seven years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.

I've played the first X minutes of a game, can I pick it for the event?

No. You cannot have any play time or achievements prior to the start of the event. The only exception is idle time from farming Steam cards.

Can I play a MP only game?

No. It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode.

If a game was sold as a non-Steam copy in a bundle (origin/uplay/drm-free/etc), can I pick it as a choice if I own a Steam copy?

No. The reason being that those who own a Steam copy would have an extra option that would not be available to everyone who bought the same bundle. If the game was originally sold as a non-Steam copy, but Humble later provided steam keys to everyone who bought the bundle, then the game would be allowed.

Why six games?

The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.

How long are you going to do this?

Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.

This event "ends" on April 4th when the next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the next day. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.

Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, and best of luck..

P.S. Small note, the event might go on hiatus again / change for 1-2 months. Things are still in flux right now, but there is a good chance that next month may not be doable and May would be significantly delayed. One option I'm thinking of is having a 2 month long event, which will allow folks to play some of the longer games, as well as get more people involved. If you have any thoughts on this, please feel free to share.

How about multi-month long play and beat 3 RPGs?
Instead of any 6 in a single month.

I'm back sliding under the door again.

Games:

Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game from February 2023 (spoilery ending screenshots)

Combat and certain user interface elements have aged poorly, but the first Fallout is still enjoyable and focused enough for gamers with some patience. For a newer player I would probably recommend Wasteland 2/3.

Evan's Remains from March 2022 (achievements) - "You did it."

This reminds me (in a good way) of the To the Moon / Finding Paradise type games. The ending was almost a tear-jerker. Some of the puzzles felt a bit inconsistent in difficulty, but none were that hard overall and there is a bit of storyline reason why that happened.

SUPERHOT from June 2017 (achievements) - "One of us"

Holy crap this game is awesome why didn't I play it earlier?!

Took a few tries to get used to the mechanics. But when it's on, it's on, and you're really feeling yourself. I'm also a sucker for all the metahumor contained in the short storyline.

Colt Canyon from April 2021 (achievements) - "We Did It!"

Well, it's a roguelite twin-stick with Western flair. Not a bad game, all told, but pretty tough even with permadeath turned off.

The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia from October 2021 (achievements) - "The Gates of Hell"

I admire the developers trying the new concept, although it can be annoying at times to remember to hit the shift key to properly use WASD to move. I lost count of how many typing combos I lost trying to dodge some bullet hell shenanigans.

If somehow we could move our characters with our mind, this game would be amazing.

Old Man's Journey from October 2018 (screenshots)

It's a nice little indie-film kind of short game; some puzzles didn't really click with me but it was short enough to be forgivable.

As for a two-month event, I wouldn't mind a chance to get through some lengthier Humble Monthly/Choice games, or just a break month in April.
