I thought that when you win a giveaway it's common to add the gifter to your whitelist, regardless whether you are going to do a whitelist-only giveaway or not.
Anyway do I qualify to join your whitelist?

As you can see I am rather new to SG and so far I haven't won many games (therefore not many users in my whitelist yet), so it's still not practical to create a whitelist-only giveaway in my case.

Usually I whitelist people I win a gift from, people who thank me when they win a gift from me, people in my groups who make a lot of giveaways I'm interested in, people who seem interesting in the forum... yeah, this :) I have only 47 people in my wl, tho (and 1 in my bl)

I used to do the exactly same thing but I never got that back and it was kinda depressing :)
I have also started to add people with overwhelmingly possitieve W/S ratio (both looking at amount and price range), so I would like to welcome you in for a while :) (I am using it as a karma reward for those, who care about the community and not just take from it)

Also if anyone has a suggestion how to find people for whitelist outside of discussions I would be grateful
- Find people with funny descriptions for the giveaways you enter. Not "good luck", "enjoy" or "post a funny gif", but people who ask a question or tell you a joke or a story. (Bonus: People who answer the giveaway questions.)
- People who say "thank you" when they win your giveaways and have a nice ratio and no multiple and/or non-activated wins.
- People who you think makes the community better, I'm personally mainly looking at the people making deal threads or good puzzles.
(This may be related to discussions tho.)

I am using most of those :) I was also doing "Comment your favourite Warhammer 40k chapter for a chance to win a spot in my giveaway" or "who is your favourite book hero?" just to reward reading and people who were genuinly interesting :)
for now I am going with this to create some basic group and I will be adding later due to different criteria

I've been trying to make more WL giveaways lately.
As for finding people -- I don't know, I generally just look at really helpful forum comments and really good ratios. But every once in a while I'll add some people for other reasons.

I'll throw my hat in the ring. I do public, group, and whitelist GAs regularly. 2:1 give:win real CV ratio. Almost 1900 GAs in my first 11 months of membership.
And I try not to be a freaking douche. 😆😁🤘🏻

i recentley learned a bit more about how to site works,and planning on doing whitelist/group onlky from now on.There are alot of awesome people on this site that gave away double or more of what they won and i think that needs to be rewarded.How can i link you my own whitelist?
My value(and lvl) are sadly low,due to the fact i can only give away bundled games (wich i buy on tremorgames with my points i earn there for doing surfey's)

Here is one non-discussion method I use to add people to my whitelist:
I look at the giveaway ratios of people who win my giveaways to determine if I want to add them to my 💙group. If they have a high number of giveaways compared to wins, I'll give them that blue heart.

I actually really dislike ratio method because I kinda feel like it supports spam giveaways and basically endores quantity over quality. I was told that my giveaway ratio is terrible several times and yet I feel like it is better to give out games such as GTA IV, Wasteland 2 and Slain than to buy a bundle of 50 keys for 1 dollar and give away that (like Dollar Viva Bundle that is taking pretty much 2/3 of steamgifts right now)

If you have the ESGST tool installed, you can see real value in the ratios rather than just quantity. That helps :)

I guess I forget what parts of the site are the tool and what are built in. I do know that seeing the breakdown of level, region lock, invite only, group only, etc is only available to the tool. Another issue with the ratio method is you might find someone who is giving away a ton of games but only to a private group of 10-20 people. The ESGST features helps identify that.

honestly the fanatical bundle is so damn everywhere :D I did mine only because I am a moron and I bought it twice instead of once (I was really, really lazy to manually hide all the games so I bought it for myself, redeemed and then figured out I had volume at 2)

4) Know that it is pretty much a mark of good manners to thank if you win something ;)
If you fit in 1, 2 or 3 and you know 4 then you have a solid chance to join my WL if you apply :)
