to make it as short yet as good as i can get ... there are 2 main things you need to look for, board control and card number in hand. Basically try not to allow opponent get the board control, 1-2 weaker minions are fine as long as you have some plan how to get the board control back. Secondly, how many cards you have in hand (and watching how many your opponent has). This is important because you will have more options on how to get in control of the game, but also thats what your opponent will think. So, even if you dont have much good cards in your hand, your opponent might think you do and he'll maybe go with safer round.

I also recommend, like in a most of popular games, to watch some streamers, you can learn a lot from listening. Tournaments are cool too, coz casters explain a lot of stuff, and with time you'll understand a lot of it.

..hope I helped ^^

As you're just starting off, don't worry about losing a lot of games. As you continue to play, you'll start to figure things out. such as the importance of card advantage and board control. Even though the objective of the game is to reduce your opponent's health to zero, this doesn't mean you should always attack their face. Rather, make ideal trades with your minions and figure out the value of each card.
There is an excellent series for beginners by a top-tier hearthstone player on youtube that I think you should watch when you have the time. Here is the intro video: Hearthstone: Trump Teachings - 0 - Introduction The series outlines important aspects of the game. Most of what I would tell you is covered in the videos. When you start shooting for higher ranks, you can farm for gold and packs in Arena mode. Remember to have fun!

For me, rexxar, anduin and gul'dan are the bests jobs for starting. I recommend you make a murloc's deck with gul'dan because it's cheaper and easy to use with his psinergies. Little by lttle you'll learn what's the bests choices to win the games. (I don't play a lot too, 0,5-1 hour 3 days for weeks just for do the quests by it's okay, my record is rank 15 :))
