Hips are normal for a guy of that size (generally, assume hips to be about twice the width of the head), the small shoulders and very atypical-for-males waist is what's throwing it off. The left arm is presumably just a distortion of the fabric, though poor artwork or magical fabric-like arm-eating snakes are also possibilities.

Arm is slightly behind the body, not on top, with hand on the left cheek. Voila! No longer distorted.

Yes, that's a given. :) ..Now, actually try making that pose. :P
It's feasible, but only in a position that either puts excessive strain on the shoulder and forearm for no reason, or a position where the elbow, forearm, and hand aren't actually facing in the direction indicated [due to folds in the fabric] (though even then, that still would likely put some noticeable strain on the shoulder).
Basically, it's the backbreaker pose, wherein a part of the body is folded over excessively, while another part is pushed forward in an exaggerated manner. As some individuals on the web have shown, it's completely possible for some individuals to pull off even such extreme interpretations of the pose with what they purport to be minimum strain- but for most people, it'd be excessively strenuous, and for no good reason. In other words, it doesn't feel natural to most people, for reasons that go beyond artwork.
Compare to the usual form (attached). Normally, the inside of the arm is facing diagonal against the body, not forward in the same direction as it (which it has to, above, to allow the elbow to open where it does). The forearm leans inward, and the hand cups over the hips- rather than out, and behind, as above.

It's actually quite an easy pose to make, since his torso is slightly bend it's natural for him to place his left arm behind him on the floor for additional support, instead of putting it beside his body, which would put more strain on his torso and right arm.

That would fall under "a position where the elbow, forearm, and hand aren't actually facing in the direction indicated [due to folds in the fabric]", which was meant to cover the angle you just mentioned. Currently it looks as though he's folding it back up against himself, not leaning it backwards, and the sharp fold indicating the bend of the wrist especially dissuades from your more functional interpretation.

I agree that there is probably a mistake in the fabric or that the fabric is somehow detached from his arm, since no healthy human could bend his arm outward like that. Or he has to twist his arm into a really uncomfortable angle like you said.

something's weird there.
Most assuredly, and I wasn't intending to argue that sentiment.
Legs naturally angle straight downward and join together smoothly, with the hip being the part to extend outward to form the natural swell at that area. In the image above, the hip is cut short, with the legs dominating part of its position. The top of the legs angle outward rather than straight up, taking the place of the swell of the hips, and then come down diagonally inward rather than straight down. Add in that it's doubtful any male would have a ribcage that narrow or shoulders that angular, and the entire form is very off.
But the hip width is reasonable (assuming you ignore the fact that the legs appear to be composing that width instead of the hips), so 'huge hips' is inaccurate. "Warped hips and abnormal thighs" would probably be more accurate. :P

If I learned anything from this thread, is that DeltaBlade has a huge collection of Zelda-related gifs and images.

I'm starting to wonder what his Rikku folder looks like now O.o.

Pretty small, I started from scratch when I upgraded PCs. I got 12 avatars available and not much else.

Oh wow, that is a lot smaller than I would have thought. My current Zoidberg folder is at 178, though this is counting a few doubles that I can't be assed to delete :/.

That's very nice. I mean, the artwork is a bit rough, but it's well conceptualized to suit them both well. Though the fact that anyone is willingly wearing a corset- and let's admit it, Link clearly is, there- is pretty dubious. :P
To clarify, I'm a staunch pro-Zelda fan, and appreciate interpretations of her that move away from the Damsel-In-Distress and Princess-Is-In-Another-Castle motifs [like Sheik, though the fact that Sheik has to appear male to be acceptable makes that one more dubious]. Which isn't to say 'tackling the political and spiritual elements of the series' isn't also meritorious, but even there she tends to be more of a figurehead than not. :X
Link appearing in (traditional Hyrulean ceremonial garb? :P) is just a bonus. :D

It's both too feminine and too recognisable as link and it makes it awkward.
That, and I'm not exactly the type of person to say I do stuff for the jokes, unless you actually masturbated to that. In which case... Uh... Go for it?

Just recently hit this part in the game.
My parents have been mesmerized by this game (very unusual for them) so this scene was.... very... very... awkward....

Same as your question, which presumes that I will ever beat meat to Link.
