It's working exactly the same as it always has, so it's not "broken at the moment".
Valve has a bad habit of hyping Queue features which don't actually exist, at least not to the significantly exaggerated degree Valve presents.

You can try filtering out entire tags and see if that improves things, but last I heard that still wasn't performing in a reasonable way, either.

The Steam discovery queue has always been in a barely-working state. It just shows you completely random games/videos, there's no real (working) logic behind it. As someone whose gone through every game on Steam, mostly via the queue, I can say that with certainty.

Speaking from the same background, I've never seen any indication whatsoever that there's actual logic behind it, beyond flat tag checks- which of course means you get films and VR games with justifications such as "Is this game relevant to you? Because you've played games tagged: Action, Indie", regardless of if you've excluded the Movie and VR tags, because it wants you to exclude all tags before it does anything.

Add in that there's no apparent weighting to your results whatsoever (other than "hot" games being pushed to the front, regardless of how well they suit you), and your Queue ends up having no reason behind it regardless of how you configure it.

Then, of course, there's the fact that every game seems to eventually get mistagged in some way, so you'll eventually get games in your Queue even if you actually HAVE blocked all their tags.

Now, to be clear, are you talking about the Queue specifically, or to the more general context?

The content itself ... there are games that are obviously being pushed there even tho based on the prefrences on my alt account and all the stuff i makred that i have no intrest in , i still get shown .

Its just those Popular / Main stream games always seem to pop in regardless of your genre prefrences or your gameplay history .

It works fine for me. Have you customize your Discovery Queue preferences already?
