TF2 is awesome, if you like it at the beginning, you won't leave it. If you're into trading, then you're gonna make a lot of profit with the noobs who don't know prices in TF2 :P
Just don't ever buy anything from the Mann Co. Store. There stuff is too high price and stuff you get is "dirty"(non-craftable). If you want anything just buy it from people at much cheaper rates.

Found this while looking around PCgamer, this is the only reason to play it.

just don't bother buying hats, if you really want to buy something from the mann co store, only focus on weapons or stuff like that.
Lol, like I would pay $9.99 for a hat, hell no.

yeah you should get into it then you get some free hats and weps and have some fun

FYI:
The game is over 10 gigabytes and counting. It gets mini-patches like every few days, or every other time I sign into Steam. So it's big.
You need a computer and an internet connection with a minimum level of decency to run the thing properly. Shouldn't take too much, but my computer can barely run it competently (not sure whether it's a hardware or connection issue, as both of mine are kinda suck) and it does interfere with my ability to play multiplayer.

Did you ever play FarmVille or those kind of simulators? If you like simulation games you'll definitely love TF2. You can collect different hats and some are worth hundreds of dollars too! You can decorate you character with the hats that you've spent hundreds of dollars on and make yourself look pretty. I highly recommend this game.

It's good. Anyone who says otherwise is clearly retarded.
Don't buy weapons in the Mann Co. store because all weapons are craft-able even with a free account. You can also get them through in-game drops.
If you have no more item slots because you have a free account and want to upgrade to premium, just buy a 49 cent item on sale.
The store is merely for vanity accessories or completing set items so don't give in to the urge and go crazy of buying stuff in the store.

If you wanna have fun, give it a try. If you want to collect items, you will be wasting your time.

I used to play when it wasn't f2p and it was really fun, but for some reason it just bores me now.

I don't play, only time I ever played is when Orange Box came out for 360 at a friends house. I kind of enjoyed Battlefield Heroes and stuff, but just ended up getting bored with how slow you moved in that game, and then hackers started flooding it and I just left.
Anyhow, is it worth getting into TF2 this late in the game? If so, any tips for a total new player? thanks guys.
