Not really a free trial, more like a free weekend.

WELL, I lost my account

Great game for those interested. Over 700 hours clocked on my account. End game seems flat but if you are participating in the Living Story updates you can keep rather busy. Micro transaction system in the game is purely for cosmetic purposes only. (With the occasional functional item ("premium currency" can be bought with the regular currency as well)

And its a 1 time purchase, then you play free forever. Guild Wars 1 servers are still up as well, So if that gives you any inclination of whether you can keep playing after the game stops being actively developed, which likely wont happen for several years.

For those sitting on the fence and wanting to give it a try. Highly recommend downloading it and giving it a whirl.

The one true downfall of the game is the "Lack of endgame content" which has been replaced by the Living Story episodic content (New update every 2 weeks, Which usually contains the standard patch worth of fixes and re-balances, along with major persistent content)
