I can understand and sympathize with wanting something different, but usually rounded faces (including oblong ones like hers) tend to be best complemented by more rectangular frames. Unless I'm mistaken, the aesthetic convention regarding face–frames pairing is one of contrast—i.e., rectangular frames with rounder faces and rounded frames with rectangular faces. Breaking that contrast is a bit difficult because one risks the frames emphasizing the shape of one's face rather than balancing it. The former, in my opinion, is what I feel is occurring with the frames shown above.

More specifically, I think the problem is that the frame is shaped in generally the same way as her face: rounded with more height than width. Moreover, the frames are so large that they extend beyond the top of her ala nasi (picture), which might not be such an issue if it weren't for the fact that the base of the frame rounds off like an oval so far from her nose's sidewall. That effect may be due to the fact that the shape of the frames seem to be more like a rounded oblique triangle than anything else, which seems to me like a difficult shape to fit to any face. Maybe I'm the minority here, but I think it would be better if the base of her frames didn't dip so low and if they did, the base was flatter (though that usually entails a more rectangular or trapezoidal frame).

If she would really prefer a more round frame, I recommend finding a rounded cat eyes frame that is closer to half the height of the frames shown above, but whose cat eye corners are not very pronounced. The frames would still have a longer width than height, which I think would help balance the height and shape of her face while still avoiding a frame shape with sharply-defined sides, such as a rectangle. If not that, then perhaps consider a frame with a horizontal oval or an inverted trapezoid shape, or at least something whose shape is more wide than it is high. That's one of the main problems I find with the frames shown above: they're too tall, which is only worsened by the fact that her face is oblong, as well.

Unless she specifically wants to break convention or she has a special interest in unusual frames like that (or in those particular frames), I suggest she stick to a frame style that accomplishes the conventional goal of eyeglass fashion: to balance the face through the contrast of shape and length.

Then again, what do I know? I can't even pick out the right frames for myself.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm not saying that those eyeglasses make her look unattractive—that would be exceedingly difficult to accomplish—only that I think there is a lot of room for improving the aesthetic contrast between her face and her eyeglass frames. That's why I chose "Meh" rather than "Not good" in the poll. Even if she keeps those exact frames (which I expect she probably will), she'll still be attractive and the eyeglass frames won't specifically detract from that.
