Hmm. I ended up finding a no-name website (I'm not entirely sure if I'm allowed to name) that had a giveaway for 4,900 keys end yesterday, saying that they were "left over trove keys". It also said in giant red font that "YOUR KEY MIGHT NOT WORK, IT IS POT LUCK!" and gave everybody two keys to give better odds of getting a working key, so if they came from there that's a little concerning ¯\(ツ)/¯

The dev has given it away several times in the past too though.

Yeah got two keys for that, but with the dupe alert from the site itself i decided to use my friend as a test subject instead of giving them away here. Both were duplicates.
