I also have a 3-year-old dog and I know I would feel miserable if anything happened to him.

Sorry for your lost. Ok you've got 2 but that does not make up for it. Every dog is special in his own way. Hopefully you have some good, funny memories of him/her. I lost one of my dogs 9 years ago and she still makes me smile sometimes. I wish you a lot of strength for now.
