you can play GFWL games no problem, you just can't buy some of the on Steam. if you got it as a gift you can activate it and play it but you can't see the store page

I wouldn't say greedy but I pay some attention to sales during the year and recently Steam, finally, have some competition; Amazon, GMG, especially if you live in the EU. Another thing is I have huge backlog so I don't have to buy games the day they release. Also, almost every single indie game ends up in some bundle for $1 (or cheaper via trade forums) sooner or later. Plus promo actions (Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite with AMD cards = their price was already $10-$12 couple weeks ago which is still far cheaper than it will be on Steam during this sale). Similar with Dishonored, Borderlands 2, Skyrim - all these I got $10-$15 via trade "long" time ago (no, not from Russians, these were without restrictions). So, as you can see it is not being greedy but Steam is not the best/cheapest place to buy games anymore, at least for me in the EU zone.

+1 This is 100% true. 2 years ago Steam sales were unbeatable, but not anymore. With patience you can get better prices on the games you want

Zack Zero, Strike Suit Infinity, Blocks That Matter, Dungeons of Dredmor, Dead Pixels, Iron Warriors: T - 72 Tank Command, Defy Gravity Extended, Puzzle Dimension, Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! Special Edition Double Pack and Puzzler World. Phew... and it only cost me around £1 thanks to steam cards :) I got a few of the games to give away here, they finish in a hour.

Edit: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut, Afterfall Insanity Extended Edition;- Was tempted to get Tomb Raider instead but I played it round a friends when it first came out and completed it (100%) in less than a day.
