TF2 help needed

so I was playing a VAC protected server 83.238.0.158:27015 - Halloween mode 24/7, been in game for 5 minutes, when all of a sudden all people on server started getting achievements - particularly item related achievements.

Someone said that it was admin doing something with server.

I got several achievements (two scout milestones and a medic milestone), cause rest were opened and got several items as a result.

Then I checked console - this is what was written there.

  • ** This Method Won't Work If you Got All Milestones etc.
  • You Received all Achievement items Except Halloween One. You must get them in legit way :)
  • You should receive items after you Die. If you don't receive them wait 30 minutes
  • Unknown command: sm_Giveitems*

DAFUQ? Can I get banned for that? Can I get back my old save to get rid of those achievements and get them later in a legitimate way? Or should I forget about it and play further?

If you get banned, maybe you should contact support to explain that
anyway, I hope it turns out okay!

Valve doesn't ban for achievement servers, I have a couple of steam friends too who had a similar story and they're still in-gmae

No, you can't get banned, and I'm pretty sure it was an Achievement Server, it is your fault for getting there.

I just wanted to play Halloween mode, I'm always playing on VAC protected servers. And I didn't seek or want anything like that, I like to get achievements on my own, just playing the game. That's bad that such servers even exist =|

Nah you are good, you don't get banned for that. And yes there's a way of reverting your achievements but that can indeed get you banned. Granted, I've done it 3 or 4 times and nothing ever happened, but you never know.
In any case if you are interested it's called Steam Achievement Manager.
