So, here I am, asking yet another not-so-thought provoking question..

Boxers or..... Sorry.

Call of Duty or Battlefield?

Which of these franchises do you like better? Now I know there are other franchises out there, but these two are the biggest and it's all out war (pun not intended) here. Which of THESE two do you like better?

Added neutral choices for those that like both or those that don't like either.

I've never played a CoD game but I bought BF3, a couple of years before it went free on Origin, for US $60 on disk. Plus I also have Bad Company 2 as a freebie from a previous Dell I bought years ago so I'm a Battlefield person.

So, which side are YOU on?

Since I've never played battlefield I'd have to go for cod. I don't actually mind cod but when it comes to gameplay I prefer black ops version while for story I did actually play a bit of the other cods. I especially enjoy number 3 since it has a great character and I just like the fact of jumping high and stuff like that. I don't like the zombie mode though or just any wave mode. I prefer to be against other people since less strategy just run back and forth killing whatever is in my way

If choosing between the two, I always choose Battlefield. It has much more of the open-ended, sand-box type feel that I look for in FPS's.

i've tried a couple COD and didn't really enjoy playing them. BF: Bad Company I did have a lot of fun with, especially the story mode. And BF1 looks like it would be interesting since it's set before everything else.

i played back in the game both games alot .
bf has more teamplay
COD is more solo egoshooter ,but both games have a toxic community so it doesnt matter that much :D
didnt bought any title lately but had always more fun in cod especially on modded privat server [Btw i did even play cod with my dad & my cousins and uncles :D] My mom was always pissed about the lan partys :D
And not to mention COD had always a great singleplayer ,while Battlefields either sucked or didnt even existed .

COD usually have better designed campaigns, and Battlefield, the best multiplayer (at least for me). It's a draw for me

I was Battlefield player but now i would say neither... Battlefield server are realy bad and on consoles you dont even have 60Hz server...

And in the end they patched the game for noobs... added and then removed Hardcore Mode... BF became a big shame like CoD...

Battlefield for me although the later iterations I found a bit dull. Call of Duty if playing single player obviously.

I used to like Call of Duty for the Modern Warfare games and then I liked Battlefield for 3, 4, and Hardline. Now I won’t play either one however. They’ve both turned into trash games in my opinion.

Last COD i played was MW and last BF i played was 3, i'd say BF is more fun but overall i don't care about both of franchises anymore.

The only game I really really liked from both series was BFBC2. LIked the campaign a lot, enjoyed multiplayer for months... CoD games I usually buy years later to check out the campaign, but 1 and 2 were amazing. BF3 and BF1 I've played but... I dunno... it's not the same.

I have played both of them in the past a lot, most of the older titles at least. Both have their pros and cons and for sure they have different identities, at least they had until i stopped playing them as i havent keep up with them for a long time as i got enough. The last battlefield i played was battlefield 4 and the last call of duty was black ops 2.
If you care about the story there isnt even an option, call of duty all the way as battlefield's singleplayer edition was pure garbage except bad company 2 that was mediocre but every single call of duty had a really good story and that began from call of duty 1 and ended for me to black ops 2. I have also heard that call of duty ghosts and call of duty infinite warfare had excellent stories but thats about it from the new games, the rest were meh at best but because i havent played them i cant say anything for sure as people were also praising bad company 2 but it seems it wasnt for me.
For the multiplayer part now i think its more about what you want from your war game, if you want bigger maps with lots of locations and vehicles you should get battlefield and i would suggest 4 as its doing its battlefield role excellent. If you are on the other side and you prefet infantry close quarters fast paced combat get call of duty. The huge con of call of duty for me are the killstreaks as you will die really often by something thats not in your hand to avoid but other people like them a lot. Keep in mind the time to kill in battlefield games is generally shorter than the one in call of dutys so thats another parameter that you have to take into your consideration.
For battlefield games i would suggest battlefield 4 and for call of duty the modern warfare 4, black ops and black ops 2.

About your opinion on SP, I played several Battlefield campaigns (and Battlefront 2) through origin access now and was pleasantly surprised. For the later ones they are not really long (SP is not their focus anymore), and maybe the plot is not great or intricate, but they have great sceneries and especially Battlefield 1 became very interesting for the historical aspect that I liked to learn about on the side.

I have played most of them except battlefield 1 as i am not interested on that game at all so i cant give my opinion on it. The problem with the battefield's campaign is that they feel so rushed, like they were done with them in half an hour. For example the battlefield's 4 campaign was full of bugs, even at one map (sanghai hotel) i couldnt get into the first elevator as i every time i was trying to get in i was glitched on the ground. I had to restart the whole game in order to pass that area and after that there were even more problems. I even tried the campaign again a year ago and nothing was fixed.
But the main problem with those campaigns is that they lack innovation and variety at a huge degree. Every map is the same, shoot everybody. I have played a lot of shooter's campaign and they always try to break the monotonous action with either some driving or some air fights, a bit of anti tank shooting, stealth etc. Battlefield's campaign for the most part dont have anything like that at all and after half an hour i felt like i have done the same thing before but on a different map with a different hud. And yes i prefer shot campaigns that dont try to extend themselves without offering anything new to the table.

Good game is a good game, not the name. I had the most fun with these: BF 2, CoD 2, CoD 4, BF BC 2.
