So, here I am, asking yet another not-so-thought provoking question..

Boxers or..... Sorry.

Call of Duty or Battlefield?

Which of these franchises do you like better? Now I know there are other franchises out there, but these two are the biggest and it's all out war (pun not intended) here. Which of THESE two do you like better?

Added neutral choices for those that like both or those that don't like either.

I've never played a CoD game but I bought BF3, a couple of years before it went free on Origin, for US $60 on disk. Plus I also have Bad Company 2 as a freebie from a previous Dell I bought years ago so I'm a Battlefield person.

So, which side are YOU on?

Never was a CoD fan, but I really liked CoD1 and 2 (and especially United Offensive!). Battlefield was fantastic up until Bad Company 2. After that the franchise shit its bed imo (BF3 was all right I guess). Now I wouldn't get either, but if I had to choose, I'd go for CoD.

The only acceptable answer to that question is Titanfall.

BF until BF:V. I was thinking about getting BF:V too, but political corectness bothers me too much. I love history, I hate when people change it. That's not the right way. Btw TF:2 rocks :D

I played CoD WW2 and Battlefield 1. Hands off Battlefield wins in every way for me.

Big maps, gunplay, game modes, tanks, planes, stationary weapons, horses, the look of the game, the feel of the game, sound design and details put into it holy smokes CoD:WW2 doesn't even get close to this game. I have 920 gameplay hours put into BF1, that's pure gameplay time no game menus and such.

Origin says I played the game 1800 hours

I don't like BF V tho, they ruined shit with that one but BF3 and BF4 are good tho.

The Older CODs and the Older Battlefields...rather than their recent abominations.
Battlefield wins for engine and realism
COD wins for memorable characters and set pieces

I'm a Battlefield guy, even though BF3 to BF1 all where pretty shit. Tried to be too much like Call of Duty and not the tactical gameplay BF was known for. BF4 was alright, but still too CoD-like and really makes me wonder why the even took so many steps back with BF1.

BFV is a good step in the right direction gameplay wise, still not completely there but atleast there are more tactical elements here than the previous post-Bad Company games.

I did enjoy the Bad Company series though, but I don't consider them to be part of the mainline. Also their clunkyness made the games less Run'N'Gun compared to the following mainline games, which in turn made the games more tactical than BF3 to BF1.

Why you dont play red orchestra 2? Its much more tactical and realistic. If on the other hand you dont want realistic gameplay you can try insurgency that still has fast killing but much more forgiving without losing its tactical design.

Played RO2 for a bit, but it's pretty much dead now. Everyone went to Rising Storm 2, which my current PC has troubles running it :\

Actually its far from dead as its the only game i play on steam nowadays. The last time that i played it was like a month ago and it always had at least 6-7 servers constantly full with 64 players so its far from dead.

Actual players? Or bots? If I go to Steam's server browser, the "high populated" servers I find are mostly filled with bots (only 1 to 10 names show up when I press server info, indicating the rest of the spots are taken by bots). In the 10 servers I checked, only 1 had a decent amount of actual players :/

Players of course, i just checked that you are from europe and not from asia so we see the same servers.
Check this https://steamdb.info/app/35450/graphs/
Even to this day i never had any trouble finding a full server at all.

Back in my younger days, BF without a doubt. But, nowadays if I want a mindless single player shooter, COD does the job nicely. And if I want to play online, it's always going to be a more grown up one, like insurgency or day of infamy.
