duke nukem forever worth getting for 5$

I don't have it, but I've played it. It's a nice FPS. The criticism you see of the game is mostly due to its roots; it's probably not a worthy successor to the legendary Duke Nukem 3D. But it's a good game otherwise. And not just for $5 dollars.

But note that if you are a big fan of the original, then this one might disappoint you.

its a fps with rather meh story, but some decent humor though... pretty much like most AAA fps nowadays... at least this one doesnt try to be too serious so i guess its worth a shot. its still better than ghosts mind you. lol

Definitely not as bad as every nose-up-high knowitall says, but neither is it great or anything. Go for it if you're into kinda cheesy but funny games. It was certainly better than Matt Hazard, and I kinda liked that one too.

I bought brand new Balls of Steel Edition for around 6,5$ in local distributor's official retail shop on Winter Sale 2012, so I'd say 5$ for digital version is way too much.

It's definitely worth $5 in my opinion. I'd say grab the complete pack for $8 and get both DLCs. The Doctor Who Cloned Me DLC gives an entire second single player campaign that many say is better than the original campaign (plus it has multiplayer extras). The multiplayer community is still active 3 years later (I run a dedicated server for it myself). You can see how active the community is here in this group

As long as you don't totally hate linear shooters and are not offended by crude humor sure.

Edit: It's a good game, don't get me wrong. But wasn't worth the 100$ I paid for BoS edition on release day :P

Don't listen to the bitching haters in here, they're just hating on the game because it's popular to do so. They just don't have any balls to form their own opinions. The game is totally worth 5$.

Despite all the hate it's gotten and still gets, its a decent game. I got it for $10 on a GMG sale last year, enjoyed every minute of my playtime. I dont have the DLCs yet, might pick them up from GMG as well since their on sale now and play it again.
