I would absolutely, and with KH3 also coming to XBox, it might be a possibility in the distant future. The reality of the situation is that they've said they don't even want to port the PS3 games (KH 1.5 & 2.5) to PS4 because they have too much on their plates, so a computer port (in my mind would be more difficult) is significantly less likely.
Again, I'd love it, but not likely. I'll just settle with emulators!

God I really hope so. WIth KH3 switching from the engine they were using to Unreal Engine 4, it gives me a sliver more of hope that it may come to PC eventually, but I feel like that may be years down the road from the console release and they won't announce a PC version for years so they can soak up all of the console sales first. For KH3, I'm not sure I can wait that long :(, I may cave in and get a ps4, all according to their plan :(.

They never mate a PC release but the 20th Anniversary made it for us !
Maybe if Kingdom Hearts get a 10 Years anniversary or something they will! :-)

We've seen more JRPG console ports than ever before in the past 12 months so if there ever has been hope it would be now. But I still don't see it happening.....
And if I only have one wish for the next 12 months I'd much rather have the FFX remaster that they just did, or a Gundam Warriors port (actually any recent Omega Force game)

Yeah...Omega Force have turned into monsters demanding terrible amounts of money for DLC...more than the game itself costs...
But their games are still the only ones capable of giving you that sense of mass battle so one has to grin and bear it and try to live without the DLC. Imagine that you're playing Age of Empires not as the skybox commander but as Hero Hector in 3rd person. It's absolutely glorious.

I think it will remain a console only thing as it is one way to Sony to sell units,though i will not buy any system for the sole purpose of playing a game i think all games should be on all system or at the least have the chance to be.
Though for me i never got the hype for it i played it some time back on the ps2 when it was a thing and i just did not get into,that is not to say it not a good game or anything i just did not get the hype so to speak.Though i am sure some can say the same about some the games i loved.Maybe Sony/Microsoft is blocking them from doing it though? kinda like Nintendo did for 007 Golden Eye from being released on Live Arcade and PS Store thing they told them they would not allow there games in the future if they released it outside of Nintendo version of Arcade thing.I am talking the original not the reloaded version.
I do think there is a chance it could happen but the thing is,how good will it be?I mean from what i hear some the FF ports have not been so hot.

That was just me saying it nothing more but Nintendo did stop Rare from releasing the original on the Xbox 360 not sure if it was also slated for the PS3.If they did Nintendo would not allow Rare to publish anymore games on there system,So they cave and scraped the plans to bring it the arcade version of Xbox Live.I was merely just trying to point out that it is possible it might not make on the pc for a reason like that,but nobody knows for sure if or when it will come to the pc.

Square Enix use to publish the game and worked with Disney to get the characters in the game.Now it is the other way around Disney owns the rights to the game and the worlds,and work with Square to get Square characters in the game.

Ooh and on a side note Square Enix does benefit from the sales of this game it might not be direct,but they are not going to allow them to use there characters for free,so depending on the deal they have,as the deal could be a percentage of each sale goes to them for the rights to the characters.I would wager though more likely they pay so much for access to them.

I think you misunderstood GenoStarrz's comment.

You make it sound as if Sony decided to keep Kingdom Hearts games away from PC to sell more Playstations even though sony doesn't influence Square's or Disney's decisions.
When he said "nor does Square Enix benefit from the PS4 sales." he meant that Square will not get anything for PS4 consoles sold even if they keep KH3 console exclusive, there is no extra profit for them by doing that.

He never claimed that you said anything about Square owning the game, he was talking about benefitting from the sales of the actual console, not the game sales. GTA sold a lot PS2 and yet Sony did not own them and that was my point games can sell systems if i really wanted to play that game and there was no plans to bring it the pc,guess what i would either be buying a Xbox or PS4.So i am still not sure what Sony and not owning them would have to do with what i said regardless.

i disagree on your reasoning were are seeing more and more xbox exclusives on PC and sony seems to be tolerant of PC gaming since it has "allowed" quite a few ports like valkyrie chronicles and shenmue 3.
If square enix doesn't port KH1/2/3 for PC,IMO, it is because they don't believe the port is worth the cost of doing it.

It was just my opinion and thoughts it was not meant to be fact or be true it just me sharing what i think.
But yeah being exclusive is getting harder because of money and so forth.But there still a lot games i doubt will ever make it to pc and i think this one is low on the list but i think it can still happen

I included Square because they are the decision makers of what platforms get KH. Sony and Microsoft have no power on whether to stop the release for PC since neither of them own or are funding the game. It would not make sense for Sony/Microsoft to stop it since Shenmue 3 (Sony funded), Gears, Halo Wars 2 and KI are coming to PC.
Golden Eye 007 is published by Nintendo so there are terms to note there. Plus the fact when Rare was sold, some of the games didn't go with the deal.
I never said Square Enix doesn't benefit from the sales of this game, I said they don't benefit from the PS4 (the console) sales which you you stated above. (I think it will remain a console only thing as it is one way to Sony to sell units.) You mentioned something that gets no benefits for Square.
Since you're not good in reading context, I'll TL;DR:
Xbox consoles sales = Xbox revenue
PS consoles sales = Sony revenue
Consoles sales =/= Square revenue

Well either way i was just trying to share my ideas and thoughts not state facts or what i said is what was going to happen.

I knew who gets it,and that not what i meant by taking out of context as what i said did not come across the way i meant it,though i guess saying out of context might not be the best way to put it.

I also wanted to add not that i am using this as an excuse but my illness can play a role in this,though hard to explain but in short sometimes what i read or hear things it not always what my mind tells me,almost like my brain is playing tricks on me.Like i will hear someone say cars and sometimes i think they said cards or something like that.

But reality is brutal. We have a choice but just go see what is happening in game industry. Incredible big ammount of DLCs, cutting games into pieces before it even been released and selling this pieces (DLC) before game hav been release. Releasing game in beta version or even in alpha, buying games before they are even released and later complain that is not so awesome like trailer would show it.

Depends on agreements. Also, as far as I know, the process of doing a PC game is very different from process of doing a console game. Sometimes it takes two teams and one of them can fail, destroying creators good reputation. Same goes for ports that can be good, but often they just aren't.
In other words, I think they will stick to consoles. They have experience in that matter, series was always a console title and I honestly don't think they will want to change that.

We all know that SE is starting to like more and more PC and getting even more and more $$$. Remastering older games, porting Type-0 even tos a PC, setting incredible big price for older FF on android.
But still there exist border that even SE don't dare to cross. But with every years this border is disappearing. Maybe in 10 years we will get it on PC but for now forget it.

adapt Kingdom Hearts for the pc, the gameplay in keyboard will be awful

I hihgly doubt it, Final Fantasy was already a unexpected move, but was probally more interested on pc, i do not feel like kingdom hearts iself belongs on PC as the type of game and how it handles is, evne tough id love to see and play it again on steam.

While games like Chicken Little were adapted to Steam, they were already available on PC. That's substantially less effort than porting a whole game.
Hard to rule out the possibility though. It would probably be a licensing nightmare, but there would be guaranteed sales with the large fanbase.

I think the trend of making "HD" versions for new consoles gives more possibilities of older, popular games coming to the PC. I've been surprised countless times at what's come on Steam. Harvester, a cult classic DOS game, getting releases on GOG and Steam out of nowhere, Septerra Core, Final Fantasy VII after its old 1998 Windows release had many compatibility problems. Still hoping that the old Metal Gear Solid games will make their way to Steam with modern OS and controller compatibility.

Square Enix/Disney own the IP and since they are starting to release games on Steam, it seems likely.
The only problem is if the developers are willing to spent time on a PC version and if they have the knowledge to make a port.

Disney is porting their games on Steam aswell.. we saw cars, Chicken little and more. Same as Square Enix.
