Was always interested in getting into the series but now the first two seem to be unplayable. Should I just jump to infinite or wait for a fix (if that's even gonna happen)?

The first two are somewhat connected, and there's only a mild connection between them and Inifinite, so you could play Inifnite first, but you might miss a couple of references (I can't say too much without spoiling).
I'd recommend getting the remasters of the first two (if you have issues with the originals) and playing them in order, though. The first has been one of my favorite games for years.

But it's the remastered versions of the first two that're unplayable (based on the reviews on the store page. I don't think it's possible to get copies of the original versions on steam.

Hm, odd. I had zero issues playing both remasters. They ran smooth as butter, while the originals crashed non-stop for me on Win7. I'm guessing there's probably an issue with Win10 (I'm on 7), which is unfortunate, because they're amazing games. :/

Took a look at the discussions and that seems to be the case. Very well then, looks like no bioshock for me for the time being at least. Not that that's too much of an issue as I have countless other games I still got to get through (as we all do). Thanks though.

Saints Row: The Third for me!!!
2 runs on Xbox and 2 runs on PC. SO GOOD!

Call of Duty Modern Warfare series (4,6,8) , I played it 5 times already, the best game ever

Yeah, but I found the title to be a bit too accurate for my taste. It was so relentlessly unforgiving that I found it depressing. I think they even managed to make the colour palette more drab (I'm testing my memory - it was a few years ago now).
I did enjoy Call of Pripyat Reloaded, though.

Every Dark Souls game,at least to NG++,Dragon Age Origins beaten several times on different platforms.

Well... Second one was pretty mediocore. Inquisition was good, but nowhere near the glory of Origins.

I have a few games I've played several times. Metro 2033, The Last of Us, Zelda: A Link to the Past comes to mind first :3

Yes! Someone else showing love to Fallout: Tactics!:)
I could never understand the hatred towards this game. It was a lot of fun!:)

The first time I played Fallout: Tactics I actually got stuck in the section with the turrets around the town (and the one under the town that was quite deadly), of which I cannot remember the name of. I got frustrated and stopped playing, for that reason and for the fact that combat took forever, and having to reload a save due to someone dying 3/4 way through made it even more frustrating.
Then I realized something. Turn based was not the way to go. Turn based with Overwatch was the way to go. Or whatever the term was that allowed you to continue moving in "real time" but each side took its turn like it was turn-based. Combat actually became easier for me after that, and took a heck of a lot less time to get through. I found the game much more enjoyable after that, and that is when I completed it.
I'm sure everyone already knows this, but here is a tip just in case. Don't trigger all of the Special Encounters! If you do, and you drive onto a section of the map that contains a Special Encounter, it will crash the game each and every time! I don't know if there is a fan-patch out there that solves this, but none of the official patches does a darned thing about it. And the Perfect Dark one is pretty darned tough! LOL!

The latter was a limitation on the world map part of the engine, just the new team was lazy to program an actual randomiser in it, so special encounters only happened in that dozen or so pre-designated cells. And originally each cell could associate two markers with it. I don't think it is fixable without a source code.
As for gameplay, yes. The hybrid is advised for the first few missions, the one mission with the trenches, and the one siege mission where you need to defend some ghouls from an invading super mutant army. The rest can be easily done in real-time. When I got really bored with the game, I did a real-time only solo run, but even then it got frustrating how only a few pre-set encounters could pose any challenge with their cheapness. (And the siege mission. That cost quite a few ghouls to do with one controlled character.)

I still have a Fallout:Tactics t-shirt I got as a pre-order gift :D.
I was a kid back then, and the size was men's large, so I never wore it until I was in my 20's.
It is the game I played least of the series tho.
When it came out, it had some game breaking bugs that for example corrupted my saves, so I never actually finished it.
Once I've played a game for days and then it turns out it's so broken I'd need to start all over, I'm just done with it at that point.
Maybe I need to revisit it one of these days.
I managed to find pics of the shirt on my PC. Sorry for the quality, took them years ago on a crappy phone camera :D

Peggle was my go to game for quite a while, when I wanted something relaxing. Other than this, not sure anything would qualify. I did play the NWN original campaign 2.5 times, and I spent a lot of time in City of Heroes, which is kind of like playing a game again and again (MMO's usually are like that).

Long Live the Queen is one i guess .
If we are talking about SinglePlayer games that i played trough many times there are hardly any tbh ... even if a game was good i wouldnt really enjoy playing it second time no matter how good it was .
Like you put FarCry as one of your examples ... i played 3 , and i don t think i need to play any other since its the same shit reskinned ... run to that tower , do some side quests , run to that other tower >.< boring grind .
The only campaing i replayed Multiple times tho , was the Brood War campaing ... other then that pretty much anything single player doesnt get more then 1 playtrough :"

That's the fun part of far cry 3.Approaching a check post with different styles is amazing.Sometimes stealth and sometimes just go straight into it and blow everyone with a c4

I don't waste time replaying a game, I'd rather play a new one cause theres so many to play. Unless I never finished it and want to finish it, then yeah, Ive replayed a bunch of games and have tons more to replay but there are some I want to replay. At the moment I would love to replay Dead Space, Dead Island, Red Faction guerilla, Flatout 1 and 2.
