I'd have grabbed it at full price on the spot now if given the opportunity. I think most who wanted it were simply waiting for a deep discount or bundle release like the other one received...and then this happened. Even worse, it doesn't look like the BBC plans to license any more Doctor Who games on PC or console moving forward...only mobile. Urggh.

This sounds like a giant fuck you to the fans and a mobile cash grab to make money off of a huge fan base.
It wouldn't surprise me to see an app with lots of IAPs.

Yeah, the article is from a few years back but they very much followed through on not releasing any new DW games on PC...and mobile is still very much their focus as of present.
It should be noted as well that both of the Steam DW games each had different developers, so this explains why one gave notice and the other didn't.

I haven't played it myself, but it was generally regarded as very poor by the community...mostly because it was so buggy. The dev botched it basically, and they should have instead used the same dev as the first one tbh (Sumo Digital)...since that release was much better received.
And true, most never even heard of the other one (The Eternity Clock) since it was never bundled nor advertised. I believe there are only around 25k installs wordwide for it on Steam....and as for gift copies...they must be as rare as unicorns considering it never received an attractive purchase price to make traders wanna buy it in the first place.
And even with "Doctor Who: The Adventure Games"...I bet keys for that will dry up rather fast as well...since no new giftable copies can be had for it any longer (due to Steam's new policy).

Not all games which get removed have any warning at all (most don't actually), but for those that do...or where it can be speculated that they possibly might...you can subscribe to this thread...
