Oh so it really did happen. Brought a key for final season when it got taken off the store but I'm not upset about it. Good games for everyone to buy again and finally get that missing dlc for the 1st game

Didn't make enough from sales on Epic store?

Probably your typical exclusivity arrangement. No company is going to begrudge future sales from more places once a contract is done.

Honestly the only 'bad' one is season 2 I think. They didn't know what they wanted to do, and you could see they kept rewriting things.

Didn't play Michonne. I don't think people count that as season 4 tbh.

I dunno, it was a pretty good story about parental abuse imo. I don't know of any other game where you play as a person who has to actively deal with emotional abuse in game and in gameplay.

Awwww so their Epic Store shilling didn't make enough money? Fuck those people, really. They should be banned from Steam.

You do realize that initially the games were removed for a completely different reason. The games coming back just means that the rebuilt Telltale can afford to get sales from Steam.

This isn't a case like with Ooblets or Shemune 3 where the devs really gives people a reason not to do so. I hope that this sales money goes to those who were able to get their jobs back after teltale was rebuilt

Maybe it's not Telltale owns them now

Its a "new" Telltale, buyer (LCG Entertainment) relaunched company in 2019.

No, in the case of the TWD games, it's Skybound, who own the IP.

They 'rescued' the games from the husk of old-skool Telltale, got Epic to fund the completion of the final 2 episodes with what is now a standard exclusivity arrangement.

Didn't they bankrupt themselves due to mismanagement, only to be scooped up by Epic as almost a mercy move? Like, this feels less like shilling for them and more like if they didn't get the hand, they'd literally not exist today.

They probably made plenty of money, because all they had to say to Epic was 'we want X to give you the rights for a year' and they got it*.

  • it's likely more nuanced than this, but hey-ho...

Is The Walking Dead : The Telltale Definitive Series exclusive to the epic store tho?

The game (collection) was released in September 10, 2019,
in September 10, 2020, the game will appear in the Steam store.

I wish they release it as a "complete your collection bundle" instead so that the more games you own, the less you pay for the rest. That would be great.

Same here.
Almost bought it using $10 EPIC Holiday Coupon.
Actually it would be cheaper because it would only cost 8.99 for whole 5 games.

it was on sale during christmas on Epic just for 15 euro (25-10=15)
"The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series contains all 4 Seasons, 400 Days, and The Walking Dead: Michonne"
Now I see it looks like that it was without "The Walking Dead Season The Final Season"

There were only 4 seasons. Michonne was almost DLC, like 400 Days, but got a standalone release.

Oh that's nice. I had S2 in the wishlist for the longest time and suddenly it was gone. I wasn't about to buy from Epic either because why would I, and it would feel a bit icky to have the games on separate platforms so I just forgot about this series.

The first game came out 7 years ago. Not a very long wait to play the second game, right? (When it's on sale, of course)

Mildly regret buying the final season on Epic now, especially as I have yet to play. I only paid $5 I think, as I used a coupon at the time. But I’m still gonna grumble about it lol

I regret buying The Walking Dead Season 3 and The Walking Dead Final Season on Epic then. (Even though the Final one don't run on my PC)
I bought each one for 5 euros (when they were offering 10€ discount on 15€+ games back in May 2019), but anyways I prefered to buy them on Steam.

I bought the PS4 version of A New Frontier just last month because I had it on my Steam wishlist for so long waiting for it to drop to like $6 that I forgot it was still on there until it was already removed. I didn't want to give Epic my money and encourage their behavior, and I'm glad to see the series is back where it belongs.

i can clearly remember failing to click in time, and gettin eaten alive by zomboos , so if that is not proof of choices affecting story ...

You follow a path, whatever decision you take doesn't change anything at all, the end point is the same for everyone, the dialogs may differ though. That's what I think about TWD Season One and Two, if I'm not wrong other Telltale games like Batman has more than one ending so I guess your choices matter there.
