Isnt that gonna be fun, folks??! Cause we all know how well such drm protection works out...oh wait SimCity, Diablo 3 launch disaster says hi.

Thats what I have to "say" to people who think that Origins is trying to improve over Valve: dont be naive, they learned NOTHING from the past. They dont care that people hate them, cause guess what? fanboys will buy whatever turd they put out in a shiny looking box. If you thought the new battlefront announcement was looking grim, heres something to get you even less excited for futur titles..

Never bought an always online game and I won't start now!
I prefer to play SP, don't have any social media account... so I really see no reason to own an always on game. There are a couple games I play coop or MP, but there I'm able to play SP offline and just go online when I want to.

Last one I played was "underground 2", so I don't even care.

Like Ross Scott said:"They release a game you want to play, but it's a poisoned pot of honey that is designed to die. As soon as publishers realize that those games with always online drm stops being profitable to them, they'll shut it down forever and you're all fucked. Have a nice day."

Pretty much says it all. I never buy these always online games, because:

  1. Pirates can crack these games and become the first players who can enjoy them without connection problems.
  2. They will shut down eventually, say you bought a game for 60$ and you're gonna own it forever? Well screw you, because these games will have their servers shut down and you can't enjoy it anymore.
  3. DDoS attacks (if possible).
  4. Connection problems, server errors or netcode issues. (Always happens at launch).

Honestly, I think #4 is the most egregious. Its one thing to have multiplayer issues at launch, considering that's been common for so long. But with Always Online DRM, you can't even play single player if they're having server issues. Of course, this also ties into #2, considering once the servers go down, all single player is gone as well.

For some reason SG fail to parse the link correctly.

Try this : http://www.gamespot.com/articles/need-for-speed-will-require-an-online-connection/1100-6427672/

Simple solution : Don't purchase this moronic game. I think it would just wither and die. Like Sim City, just take a look at people playing Cities Skyline now. That's how you do a city simulator game.

Pity, I shall not buy it then (unless I find it in the dollar bin years from now and even then I might hesitate).

Still waiting for a Pro Street 2 type of a deal. That one was my favourite and with this whole online DRM thing.. yeah, they won't get too far.

It's so much fun to watch how they fail even more every year. Like they live in a vacuum or even another planet that they either don't care about the criticisms or still hope this mentality would success. Origin exclusive, 10$ dlcs for couple of mediocre cars, same boring game with shitty console port every year and now this always online drm crap. I don't even remember the last nfs I've played for more than 3 hours.

Haven't bought a need for speed since hot pursuit on the 360 won't bother me. There are plenty more racing games out there that don't come with this always online garbage.
