i use a chrome extension called "hacker vision" OP, apart from the stupid name it actually works pretty well. the white eye burning spell has been lifted from my chrome ages ago. i could read the things i do online otherwise, even with sunglasses

Well, there are plugins which let you change the CSS of webpages you visit, but I don´t get why there aren´t more dark ones.
In comparison white is a pain in the eyes...

Yes from me, from an energetics point of view, displaying black is cheaper... White is wasting energy. Just imagine, preventing worlds energy crisis one dark site at a time...

In my opinion there should be a night mode, which changes the background to black/dark grey and the text to white. Its way nicer to look at with curtains closed.
