Settings > friends.

unfortunately you cannot disable certain groups. Its either all or nothing.

Edit: Maybe with time they will add a option to select which you want to mute. We will see.

Thanks!

Sadly the same settings apply for ALL our groups =(. Will be cool if we can set this option independently for every group.

So that's what they've been working on since Half-life 2 🤔

Best feature of the year!

I wish it were separate settings for events (I never want to see those) and announcement (I often want to see those).

(And like others have said, it would also be nice if it were on a per-group basis.)

Never again.

Never had any problems with that since I'm in like 5 groups and I've only seen them send announcements like twice, but more options are always good.

One day they'll add a setting to open non-steam urls in a real browser and not the snail that comes with Steam, and they'll make me happy. It probably won't happen until 2060 though.

My steam always opens links on chrome?

Mine opens some links in Firefox and some links in Steamsnail. Sometimes both.

Mine is also like that. By instinct instead of clicking the links I copy and paste on the browser to avoid it.

I do the same, but I'd rather have some control over it :/

Yes absolutely.

Well... A toast for 2060!

It is something, hope they add more options to mute only some groups, but is Valve, i doubt it.

Great. Now how many decades will it take them to make separate options for announcements and events.

I mean, really, why even block announcements at all? They're non-intrusive. Whereas events take me out of fullscreen games.

for me only problem ever was events. and I want to see announcements from most groups I belong to. so valve found way to add new requested feature, but yet make it unusable gg

Wow, finally! Steam users have been asking for this for so many years. Now I don't have to use the custom skin I made that blocks all steam popup notifications. The skin works, but it blocks everything including the popups that let you know when someone sends you a message and also achievements. I use to just turn off the Steam overlay, but I was still getting the popups outside of games and ended up just disabling everything.

How about what? The ability to disable group notifications that the OP posted? I haven't tried it yet.

Cool, I didn't know that existed. I haven't looked into the issue in a while because I already disabled them myself, but hopefully it will work now through the steam option.

Yes but the tool I linked only blocks event popups, announcements and messages don't get blocked :p

I think the new steam option that was just added should work good for me if it works correctly. I want all group notifications and announcements blocked, which it should do. Now I can block everything from groups and still get the popups for friend messages and steam achievements.

Added a setting to disable group event and announcement notifications

And still not a way to subscribe to the few ones I'm actually interested in. Also, either none or all notification/event popup, no way to supress only specific ones. I'm not even surprised.
