NOD32, firewall is pointless. Anti-Spyware is pointless too as most antiviruses take's care of that.

Well, what would you need firewall for? Is someone DDOS'ing you?

trololololol? You can't be serious... an antivirus is more pointless than a good firewall. Most trojans these days hide in steath from the users, bypass all virus definitions by simply paddling themselves, and just ping out to others as a snoop or zombie. I tracked one back for fun and I've seen server dumps of 10,000+ passwords and users name, credit card, porn site logins, etc, from these - most of which still work (these user might of had a virus scanner but used crappy microsoft firewall or none, others ignore the warnings and allow the communication anyways).

And I use some other tools like registry cleaners, spybot s&d, combofix, malwarebytes antimalware... and I scan every untrusted file with VirusTotal :3

MSE. Started using it after only that one got rid of some shit I had. Some of the other AV's didn't even detect it, and the others couldn't remove it. Kept using it cause it's not intrusive, and it's convenient.

NOD32. It was voted best anti-virus software a year ago by a Dutch trusted consumers organisation. I bought a 2-year subscription. Another mayor advantage is that's very light on your system. Before I had Kaspersky which was fine as well, but it used more resources from my pc.
That in combination with the Windows firewall, and me not being stupid to click anything that blinks, is working great.

I agree. Just use adblock / noscript and dont go on sites sites you do not trust. Antiviruses only recognize 30-40% of viruses / spyware so if you need to use them, you're doing it wrong and should probably format.

Avira. It's free, quite light, constantly updated and actually blocks some stuff from time to time.

Avast Free. It doesn't use much resources and runs nicely in the background, doesn't pop up with crap while in full screen applications and has various shields to protect from all kinds of threats.

MSE -people hate this because of the seemingly slow scan, it's slow because this scans all your files that other internet security doesn't scan.
